yup they sure can.

we were constantly told about behaviour and things like that.....there are certain places for burnouts and stuff and if u do it in an area that is not for burnouts u will get into trouble.

its for the safety of others....if u r doing something stupid in the wrong area and hurt someone it just causes too much headache for the organisers (being deby and gary myers).

i know a couple of guys had their keys taken off them on the saturday and they couldnt get to their cars at all till sunday night.
with the size of the security guards AIR hired, i'd dare say they can do whatever they want lol

what the.........

Not that I was even there, but I'd still like to see them try and take my keys away...........by all means throw me out but you won't get my keys

sunday morning that was us, lol, little black rolla, the biggest issue was that AIR and gary had diff officials out there which mad it hard, we got told to come forward while some1 was tellin us to come back, then got pissed off and went round the back of the track, cut sick when into the pits and started packing up, all the sercurity gaurds where talkin to us tryin to figure out what the f**k was going on, lol, but it was all sorted out, will be there next year.

but on a serious note, they call it a skid comp for a reason, if u had 250 cars in 1 area there to do burnouts ofcourse we r going to do burnouts where ever we can, it was abit stupid and when i was talking to gary head said that going through AIR was a mistake cause they r just a head f**k, but other then that, we had fun and it was a good weekend

+1 no one gets my keys. Get a kick in the nuts if you try.

Remember having my bikes in a show and shine years ago and they wanted my keys during the time it was there ... like f**k they're going to get them. I'm not handing over the keys to $13K worth of bike. I set up my display and disappeared asap with my keys. On the last day they caught up with me and had a spew

ROFL

They rambled on about "if a fire broke out, we'd need to move the bikes" ;)

I'm comprehensively insured for all my toys (inc fire and theft). I think there is a higher chance someone would steal my bike, than there is the chance of a fire getting it. To which I answered "are you personally going to be here at 3am if (or when) a fire comes thru, to move my bike? Don't think so"

My insurance would not cover me if they knew I handed my keys over to a (potential) thief.

    • Got some decent progress after work yesterday and also today. Got the ECU all wired and passenger side interior all back together. Kept the wiring up nice and high to avoid people standing on it. Got the surge tank relays rewired and tidied up the pump wiring and cut a hole to bring the cables through.  I found a spare USB cable I had lying around so I decided to cut it up and see if I could use it for my CAN 1 bus. Turned out one of the pins I needed was to the shield of the cable so i cut it up and desoldered it and resoldered to the correct pins.  Had the issue with the powersteering hose hitting the A/C compressor and fan shroud. I pulled the bracket off and modified it to remove the front mounting point which now clears it all. Will keep an eye on it to see if theres any signs of fouling once it's up and running.
    • That's some good input mate. Nice.
    • So today I went well outside my comfort zone (again) to replace my valve cover gasket.  I have had a big leak over the exhaust leading to a lot of smoke and smell every time I drove it. The leak was in the rear driver's corner.  The job wasn't hard as such, just a bit finicky and time consuming.  The old gasket was rock hard and broken right where the leak was.  The leaky corner had so much sitting oil in it.  The good news to my amateur eyes was no buildup or sludge under the cover. It all looked fairly nice in there.   I haven't started it yet. I ran out of light and body when putting the coils and injector loom back in. Probs only 30min left for the morning.  I was so nervous putting the cover back on, I must have lifted it 5 times to make sure the gasket was still seated properly. God it's going to be nice to be leak free and not make other traffic light queuers think my car is about to explode.
    • Gave the Mazda it's first wash, it will need some clay, a light compound, and polish polish to remove a few swirl marks, but that will be a job for when I have a full day to get my DA polisher action on
    • Just did this job on my 32 with the boost doc kit. was quite simple to fit, hardest part was getting the rubber bungs back on the firewall. does anyone know how the heater will work now without the flap in the bend? Will I just have a heater on 24/7 now?
