I am trying to pick out a new set for my track car.

i Currently have a set of AVS model 5 i think rims. 17 x 9 + 19 all around. there is no way in hell they will fit under stock guards but there is a fair few sets for sale that would.

Personally i dont like them that much but they came along at the right time for the right price.

I personally love the old school look. work meisters or equips for the plain dish look but if your gonna go dish make sure you have plenty or non at all.

pic of my car for reference

yeh true about dish...same with xd9, emotions, te37's, some of the weds and anything that have that tapered/curved look when theres good offest.

avs 6's and buddy club p1's are some i like that don't need good offset.

Few from my old R32 that I thought looked best

Abu.....all i can say is WOW. You've probly got one of the sexiest looking R32's i've ever seen!! :)

It looks tough with anyone of those rims but i like the XD9's the most, then probly the 33GTR's.

Jake, just pick one of the rims Abu has. Same offset, width etc....you cant go wrong and it will look tuff as :)

  • 2 weeks later...

just recently bought a cheap set of wheels..8" +38 front and 9" +38 rears...really happy with the wheels as i got them pretty cheap and picked up some bridgestone potenzas for the front and advan neova ad07's for the rear for cheap as.

they are gmax's but i have no idea what model they are because the aren't on the site so most likely old skool.

i've only put the rears on as i'm waiting to fit and balance the tyres and i miust say...it looks tuff as. i was scared +38 9" in the rear wasn't enough but its enough to fill up the guards and not look over done.

so anyone with a r32 gtst that isn't willing to roll/lip/modify guards and want to use as much space as possible 17x8 +38 and 17x9 +38 is pretty good. you could probably go to +35-+32 but i think any lower and you'll be rubbing on something. My car isn't slammed on its ass but it is lowered with apexi springs.

i'll post up some pics once i have tyres fitted.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
