Comments: Ordered these stunning wheels back in July, they are brand new, took three months to manufacture and deliver to Oz. Planned to fit them to my R33 GT-R, but they do not quite clear the front Brembos. :D

I bought these when 1 AUD bought 94 Yen. At the current rate (~71 Yen), these rims would now cost over $4500, so they are an absolute bargain.

Please note it is up to you to make sure that these rims will fit your car (by whatever means). Serious buyers only please!

Really sad to see these go...

Ouch thats a painful and expensive method of finding out not all 18's will fit a R33 GTR. I figured they'd fit for sure because im using 17'" BBS ribs at the moment.

I was considering some 18x10 volks for my 33 GTR too, glad I dont have to learn the same lesson you just did. So do all the 18" volks not fit an R33?

it depends on the disk type. you can have either big dish or big caliper clearance but you can't have both (assuming wheel widths and offsets stay the same)

these wheels are GORGEOUS, if my stag didn't have 33gtr brembos i'd be sending cash your way - hassle someone with a stagea to buy these.. they'd look amazing with some mild guard mods! :P

Thanks for the tips fellas, yes it would have been great to know this before the three month wait and mega cash outlay... :) I didn't try fitting them to the rear, I assume they'd fit there though.

Hopefully someone with a Stagea or other suitable car is interested.

I don't want to have to resort to spacers and/or lipping front guards / using undersize tyres etc

Buy 10mm bolt on spacers?

Yeah thanks mate.. I'm looking into that... Not sure about making the investment into tyres then finding out they scrub on the wheelarches or rubbing on the fenders though - being 10 in wide, they're right at the front guards already :)

Might end up buying some 5mm or 10mm spacers and trying it out.. So pissed off!

i wouldnt trust slip on spacers with rims worth that much unless u have decent wheel nuts..

if its for a street car or you dont require that much grip, stretch some 235/45s on it... heres mine, 18x10 +17s on a gtst n it didnt rub thanks to the stretched tyres (had 265s on it, couldnt even roll a mm)

on a gtr you shouldnt have a prob with rubbing guard with stretch

265s (undrivable)

235s (perfect)

Emz.. let me some cash so i can buy these rims...

Would u swap + cash on top for 18x9 BLITz techno speed rims?

Dush, what offset are they? Is that pic one of the actual wheels or just an example? You have 235s on there at the moment?

Cheers,

Matt

^^ Correct. I just got a set in 18 x 10 +17 and they fit over my 6-pot alcons just nicely.. I sacrificed slightly less dish for big caliper clearance :(

Sexy wheels... that's a fair price too, with the current exchange rate these would cost around $4500 now.

Will these clear a r34 gtr with brembo's?

These are still for sale. Price is $3,300 o.n.o.

I have 4x 5mm slip-on spacers to go with each wheel, so that they will clear GT-R calipers. If using the slip-on spacers, the wheels WILL still sit cleanly on the spigot (not merely on the studs alone).

Did you end up finding a new set of rims? Would you be interested in a set of Volk TE37 17x9 +22 with cash adjustment??

I bought a set of RE30s in 18" x 9.5". Thanks anyway mate.

    • Does anyone sell a pipe that's made to go from the Greddy FMIC kit for ECR33 (RB25DET) to the Greddy intake manifold?
    • Not that I know from experience, but in theory you'd want your gate spring to be as close to target pressure as possible, so you'd go with the higher gate spring?
    • Before I commit to it as I already have the wastegate off the car, would you change it to the 9psi spring instead of the 12, or whack it back on now and try your suggestion?   Edit: Actually I might just swap the spring and see what the logs say after another few pulls, as we know it's still spiking without the Mac valve in the picture so I need more data without the Mac valve trying to combat the issue.
    • Sounds good Hmm suppose the main thing is, how much do you care about this car? The filler doesn't make for a very good water barrier lol. If there was a tiny little bit of rust forming now, that in 3 to 5 years time becomes obvious under the paint (starts to bubble up), would it bother you?
    • I already have the ability to datalog the voltage... what I can't do is correlate it to what the gauge is showing when I'm looking at the data at a later date. Or something like this. Except getting the oil to 125C+ involves me going 200+kmh at the track so you can imagine this is a little tricky unless I do something like note what the voltage is when I am at the top of 5th gear so I have a point to reference on. Drove car today. O2 still reading richer because hopefully not a leak instead of massive restriction I've introduced. Car really doesn't sound like a LS. It's quite strange. Pulled a bit of fuel out up top. This does potentially explain why my spark plugs looked like the car was running pretty over-rich. If I was tuning it to a ~12.7 which in reality was far richer than that in the past. It will be handy to have the dyno WB to compare my WB to to compare notes that's for sure. At this point I'm happy to just sit in the passenger seat and tune the thing given I've got about 7 million hours on the platform lol.
