Dave notice the plural

Shazza i have found be honest with the police to the best of you knowledge, you are not a mechanic if that makes sense

for example my car sounds loud but a police officer asked me if it was too loud and i said to be honest i have no idea, as its never been tested so there was no point me making assumptions that it was too loud

Hey fellas,

Quick question...

What about, if I did the Cole can trick, drilled a small whole in the centre of the aluminium... Would that mean it would only flutter a small bit or when I rev the shot out of it???

As I was thinking then when I drive it easy it won't flutter?

Anyone know?

I suspect the flutter will just be a bit quieter than fully blocked, as you are letting a bit of air escape. Its the same as an adjustable BOV when you tighten it to only release a small amount of pressure.

I think Damo is being sarcastic, Jamie. If there is a small hole then only a little bit of air will flow out. For example on full throttle release (rev out) you should get flutter and bit of stockie wssssh and on partial throttle release (4000rpm gear change) you should get just the wsssssh sound and maybe the tiniest bit of flutter :D

Wicked! That's what I'm looking for!!!! So I can still be in stealth mode if I need to be... :)

You drive a skyline there is no such thing as stealth mode

Leave the car at home = stealth mode

Jamie, Steve is correct on this one mate. If you want to drive it in stealth mode then just return the car back to stock and that will be the only way to get about lol. I have an adjustable BOV if you wanna try it and see it this is what you are after.

Hey guys,

just completed the experiment of blocking off the bov however leaving some holes so that it can still be silent when you drive soft and flutter when you give it a bit...

So far it went well... It took a couple of goes to get the right amount of small holes into the aluminum so that it would be at the right pressure but it seemed to have worked...

I can see what you mean guys, when you say that I may need thicker aluminium due to the stress it will be under but we will see how it goes.

Thanks for the offer krishy, however I'm trying to stay away from after market bov due to that being one of the first things cops look for when they pop your hood... :(

Anyways... If people have been thinking of blocking their bov for the sound, maybe the way I have done it would be a good option... :)

cheers

Take it for a test drive and let us know how it sounds compared with before

Took it for a run on PRIVATE PROPERTY (cough cough) and it sounded great... none of those stalling issues either...

As mentioned in above post, you can drive it softly with no flutter and if you want it to flutter just give it some stick!!!! :)

All is good...

(now to take it off so that i can drive on the public roads again withought being defected by the boys in blue....)

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
