Isn't it comforting to know that, when you arrive home, put your favourite performance car to bed, put your feet up on the coffee table with a drink in one hand and the keyboard in the other, that you can then take leisure time (logged on to SAU) to

i) COP S#/T FROM UR MATES who are kind enough to say what they think

ii) let off your own steam

iii) find 1 out of 10 that can relate to your anger/frustration and then...

Go off to sleep dreaming of Whiskies Tangos Foxtrots :P

Ahh no, V8's arent exempt. I was just using the BOV as another example of modification of the intake system.

no no :P

i mean

all the chaps i see in the badlands (ipswich)

with supercheap auto air cleaners on top of there big block 253's

they seem to get left alone?

just having a lol thats all

i havent looked for any written rule, or even read the rules lol. but here's my understanding. any intake mod messes with the factory emissions setup. so deviation from this could possibly deem the vehicle emissions unfriendly.

on another note. when driving the gf's lancer, i have, on occasion, gunned it in view of police officers. they dont even bat an eyelid. same with the rav4. probably more so. but i'm not stupid enough to do that in the skyline. you gotta drive accordingly.

This may be out of line but it has the same fundamentals as 50's America when they were not so nice to african american people.

"i.e." singling out 1 specific kind of person (African American ) / car (Skyline) with the proviso that they are committing a crime when they may be just sitting there minding there own biz.

Lions also wait for the weak and young

police are racist as by my equation listed above

racism is not o.k im my books need a sleep

I think the word you're looking for is prejudiced... not racist. Unless someone bred with a skyline and created a new race? :P

The other side of pods is the increased induction noise - ie illegal based on emission of noise laws.

from what ive seen harleys must be exempt ?

The old man has quite a few biker mates and they just glide by the police at 150Db's and nothing happens..............imagine a bunch of skylines with pods and 3 inch exsausts humming past the cops?

id put $$ on the imports getting pulled over while the bikers go and party on

That's a fallacy. Cars have 90Db to play with, and the induction noise is nowhere near that. Not even the Gas2JZ goes anywhere near that amount...

I've been looking for a written rule as to why pod filters are illegal for about 6 months now...

haven't found it yet...

PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT OPERATIONS (NOISE CONTROL) REGULATION 2008

Try Clauses 13 and 20 (It took me 2 minutes to find.

Then go to decc.nsw.gov.au

As for driving in Lapa.

Have you got a fog light ticket anywhere else.

Maybe it's a hint. Don't go to Lapa on a Sunday night because you are lucky it's only the cops giving you a $81 ticket rather than the locals torching your car.

what is this place?

and locals touching cars translates to what?

laying the boot into it ?

That still doesn't satisfy me. It mentions engine noise level, and unless that has it's own rating (can't find it) then there is still 90Db to play with...

but to be bad wouldn't the extra noise have to surpass 90db???? i know for sure my sneezing sound doesn't get that loud, its as loud as a normal person sneezing

    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
    • Ah coolant overflow, previous discussions make way more sense now lol.
    • ok. Yea, then I would need to remove the turbo and weld an adapter on to it instead, if I fuc* this one up.
