Hey, i have an R33 and i was reading up about cold air intakes. Apparently they sound like they are pretty good for your car, increases performance, increases engine life, increases fuel economy etc.

Would it be worth getting one put in my R33 Non Turbo?

And does anyone know how much they cost?

If you have a pod you need one as the air temp under your hood gets pretty high( hot intake air = bad), if you still have your standard air box you can just get a quality filter and it will still flow fine.

- Inlet air temp is jut as important in an n/a application.

Oh ok, thanks. What are pods? Do all cars have them?

a "pod" is an air filter that replaces your stock airbox

in some cars you can gain a small amount of power by replacing the airbox with a pod

nonturbo cars dont gain much power and makes them sound like fart, so dont bother

Im sorry gfunkk if the sound of induction is not to your liking.

Ive had a few n/a cars with a open filter and they sounded great.

Its just a pity about the heat they suck.

TYSON 1990, get some cold air in there mate and a good filter and it will sound and go better (a little bit anyway), you could try a GTS-T CAI or fab up some duct yourself out of some 100mm duct(bunnings ; ), or relocate a pod filter to the front bar (no fun with puddles) or put on a pod but fab or buy a cold air box have a look through justjap.com.au for ideas youll get all the air you need from around the headlight area.

    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
