Hey, does anyone know where i can get REAL underbody neons. Not LED shit ones, and not interior neons that they say can also be used on the exterior. Since exterior ones are wayy stronger since otherwise they'd crack to easily every time a small rock flicked up and hit them.

Also does anyone know where i can get them properly installed and how much all this would cost?

You can get them at all the usual crappy autoparts places eg. autobarn...

Do some research first to see what the decent brands are...

Do the install yourself, it can't be that hard, or install them and get a sparky to do the wiring, make sure you have a in cabin switch so you can turn them on & off.

And then post pictures of the finished look...

I can't believe it, this threads been up for almost 4hours and no flaming as yet... thats a record surely...

Hahah yeah i'm expecting people to be flaming me but oh well, i think neons look cool.

I've looked at supercheap auto and they only have LED underbody neons. I'll have a look for an autobarn, i don't know of any near me but there has to be one somewhere lol. Also i plan on putting a switch inside my car, i want it near the switch i have for my interior neons. I don't know how i'd attatch them to the bottom of my car though thats why i thought i might need someone else to install them.

Still not 100% sure i want them, since they are illegal to drive with when on, and i can't leave my car parked with them on either if i didn't have my key in the ignition.

Ofcourse i plan on doing that hahah. I'm gonna drive with them on when i'm not driving down main roads. I always see hot chicks walking around my estate on friday and saturday nights. So i'd just flick on the neons and see how many chicks i can pick up hahah. It's not like you can see them when their turned off so if someone thought neons were gay, they wouldn't see them during the day anyway.

HAHA that's a mad idea. So for the time being you should just get a maglite and shine it in their faces to get a clearer view :P

^LOL!

Anyways, the ones ive seen around are shitty LED ones aswell...

You wanna hit up the real deal, try Autojoy, they should be able to source some out for you..

Or you could get a lil over the top and go hit up streetglow, even they have the LED ones. :P

To tell you the truth, the shitty cheap LED ones are the typical crappy light distribution type, Streetglow also have LED kits but theyre designed to have a straight line of light with no breaks in it.

Hope it helps !

Thanks. The main reason i hate the LED's is because they have the breaks in the light but if there are some that don't do that then it's cool. But if one LED in there broke it'd be gay.

Just looked up the Autojoy website, looks pretty sweet. Their shop is kind've far from me =\ i live in QLD lol. But i'll look more at their website, i just had a quick look. If they have lots of stuff that interest me i might go down to NSW just for something to do hahah.

LED's are the brighter ones.. you will get more glow out of them... and they are more reliable cos if one led burst ur neons still work but if u had the tube one if it goes out its out.

Yeah if one LED goes out then i have a big break in the light which would look gay.

Anyway i checked out autojoy more and it'd be nice if they said how much everything cost :@:@.

hit up street glow, even though they are in america they will quote you in AUD$ including shipping if you ask them to, i got a quote a little while back for my cousin for some interior neons, considering where they were coming from the price wasnt too bad, but i cant remember what it was.

At any rate its worth an email.

its easy.. go to autobarn.. i had the ones that go with the sound.. engine revs.. fading.. always on.. costs $300.. you can screw it to the body.. or side skirts.. mine stayed on even when the ignition is off... just run it to a switch

i had them in my vt.. so flame away lol.. but it was built as a show car and let me tell you.. it won't pick up chicks.. maybe 7-10yrs ago it would have but in todays age.. your prob gonna get laughed at...

they arent hard to hook up.. run the wires into the transformer.. and then to a switch.. the switch needs power (run off a fuse.. and then ground the earth wire.. done..

oh and they are the neon bars not the led ones.. where bouts in brisbane are you?

I put neons on for a show (kind of ironic cause you can't see them under the bright lights anyway) and they were of the LED variety. The even spread is all in the inistallation, but it's hard to go past the perfection that actual neon tubes put out... I don't care what anyone says, I like it :(

img0564su2.th.jpg

The only time they have been on on the streets is when a mate of mine accidently flicked the switch... I looked over at a ute beside me that I thought had blue neons on and I'm like cool, he has them too!

nope.. twas my reflection... so I normally leave them unhooked now :(

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
