75coupe
I just saw a Black van like small bus that had neons, it was a nightspot shuttle for Doyles on the Central Coast... blue neons. So if he can do it and not get pulled over??? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/243082-underbody-neons/page/4/#findComment-4249276 Share on other sites
Phatboy
I always see hot chicks walking around my estate on friday and saturday nights. So i'd just flick on the neons and see how many chicks i can pick up hahah. Chicks that know absolutely nothing about cars will think "omg that car has fancy lights, must be an awesome car", all the chicks i know think neons are cool. So yeah, if i see a chick walking at night i'll flick them on and be like "heyy, need a lift??" Oh god... I really hope you are kidding. Phatboy
how is it rice? its for show. but if its on like a civic or a lancer itll be rice. Dude, did I just miss something? Rice = For show, not performance. Neons are the ultimate in rice technology. It doesn't matter if their on a shitbox lancer or a Veyron. As to why you would want to draw MORE attention to your skyline from the cops, that's a separate matter. My philosphy has always been - you've got a fast car, don't let the cops know, enjoy it by yourself. That's why I keep my cars absolutely stock from the outside - even wheels and ride height are stock. But each to their own. Tyson 1990
Does anyone know the answer i asked at the bottom of page 3? I might have to make another thread otherwise since this is getting filled with debates about neons lol. Phatboy
you think the cops dont know what a skyline is stupid? tskk what about those cars that pull good power + have neons? riced out? ahahaha Which do you think a cop would go after, "stupid" - two otherwise identical skylines, one looking completely stock, one riced out with likely defectable mods like neons, wings, dropped, etc, etc. Of course a stock skyline will still draw attention, but this is called minimising your risk of getting pulled over. I'm not here to argue about personal tastes in a cosmetic subforum, but I think you're missing my point. Cars that have good power don't need neons to do it. Neons by themselves are pure rice, by definition. They are 100% cosmetic, and do not add ANY performance - in fact they may have a slight negative effect, due to their weight and drawing power. They fall into the same category as wheel spinners, washer-LEDS, non-functioning bonnet scoops or huge stickers with the shopping list of mod companies, all of which I am sure you love. GTR-N1
I didn't realise just how useful neons could be until I was counselling a middle-aged couple about their flagging sex-life! The husband used to be totally unromantic. No wonder that he had trouble gaining and maintaining an erection. So I counselled him about the fact that Romance was the key that opened up Sexual Arousal in a woman. By the time we got him to talk his wife into coming along, we had also entertained the idea that he engage in fantasies with her. I then had to help him to help her to talk about fantasies and then (between themselves) Grade them into Black, Grey and White where... Black = Don't Go There Grey = Do This Discreetly White = Any Day, Any Hour, Even This Minute It turned out that one of the Grey ones they were stimulated by, was to go out to a dead-end road (which they picked out to be the road to Prospect Reservoir at the time), and he would drop her off near the end at night. Then he'd go back a Km or so and drive back towards her. By that time, she will have undressed, come out from the bushes and thumb a ride from the driver - not a stitch on. In their planning, she said, "But how will I know it's you?" Then the husband said, "You won't be able to see my hard-on but the Neons will be on!!!" .:: GimpS-R34 ::.
IF you get the same neons from autobarn that i got.. it comes with a switch box.. has for buttons on it and you select which one you want.. and it comes with a microphone built into the box for the music.. (so you place the box near a speaker.. i placed mine next to the drivers seat).. and an external microphone that you attach to your firewall or similar to get the engine revs... both of these microphones have sensitivity dials.. it also comes with two large transformers that MUST be wired to a switch as these transformers always work if connected straight to a battery = flat battery the switch can be kept outta sight so you wouldnt need to drill holes if you wish.. just dangle it outta view somewhere.. there is also an on/off switch on the box itself so you don't have to fiddle with the other switch if your turning them on/off all night Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/243082-underbody-neons/page/4/#findComment-4251230 Share on other sites

Wide-body kits aren't just cosmetic. Wide body kits mean that you can accomodate tyres with a mcuh wider profile, which means better grip = better track times. Some also add downforce, some have well placed intakes in them to cool the engine bay or brakes. They also usually don't add much weight as they are cf. The car in the pic isn't mine, btw. I never said that people should stop putting neons on their cars, just that I wouldn't. All I said was that I personally consider them to be ricey as they add no performance; they are only cosmetic and broadcast to everyone around (intentionally or unintentially) to "Look at me! Look at me!". I'm sure there might be a few incredibly well modified GTRs which also have neons on them. As I said earlier, each to their own. On the street glow website you could buy like these box things that you wire to your headunit and then it picks up the beats that makes your neons flash with the beats so theres no little microphones everywhere. I like things to be very neat and compact in my car, so i probably wouldn't like a big switch box and microphones lol. Didn't someone say though that the neons have to be non-flashing to be legal or something? Actually I am not sure on the exact details for where I live, Victoria, as I can't find anything in Vicroads VSI8 regulations re neons. Other states may have different rules. Actually I am not sure on the exact details for where I live, Victoria, as I can't find anything in Vicroads VSI8 regulations re neons. Other states may have different rules. Yeah i know i tried looking up some Acts ages ago before i bought my car since i've wanted neons for a while. Basicly their illegal when driving but legal when parked is what i could gather or legal when stationary anyway. So if they are flashing it doesn't really matter, i'd mainly only have them flashing when i'm showing off my sound system to my friends since they often compare all their subs to each other. I think unless someone can actually hear your music then its pointless to have them flashing since otherwise it just looks like their broken hahah. Also i just looked up what i said in my previous post, it was a music interface that you connect to your headunit then you connect it to your neons to make them flash. But its actually this gay ass chunky looking box that can 'dash mount for easy access'. I don't want that big brick sitting on my dash, looks like a 1980's radio, i was thinking it was just some converter thing that was small and could just be hidden somewhere out of sight like near the battery or something. Anyway reason i brang that up was i looked at the comments about it, one guy said "Save yourself $33 and hardwire your neons to your speakers". Does anyone know what that means? joeyjoejoejuniorshabadoo
anyone trying to say that neons aren't rice is seriously kidding themselves... the reason that i dont like them is that they bring the WHOLE skyline community into the "hoon" bracket even more than we already are... and even if YOU dont think it should... you KNOW that's what other drivers think Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/243082-underbody-neons/page/4/#findComment-4252805 Share on other sites
