Nice work Ben - it will be great to get some more faces coming along ... what is the rest of people's excuses?

Oh, and the needle is not that bad - you just look away and stare into the pretty nurses eyes, and you won't even notice it. By far the worse part is the glucose test in the interview .... but don't worry about that - just make sure you ask them to get you in the side of the finger, not the pad. Last time the guy did it in the side and I barely felt a thing! The needle is a piece of cake. And it gets even easier the more times you go. Both Shaun (Evil34) and I were a bit pasty and needed an extra 5 minutes sitting down and a couple of Powerades the first time, but by the 2nd time giving we had no problems whatsoever. Plus, as others have said, the free cheese/biccies/iced coffees/sandwiches makes it all go down a lot easier :P

Remember everyone too, to have AT LEAST 2 litres of water in the morning before you go. Trust me, you will feel a lot better afterwards if you have lots of water in you!

Cmon guys - one day you will more than likely get someone pregnant and she has a baby. Believe it or not, many women have to have blood after giving birth - and sometimes the platelets are used for the babies too. Or imagine someone you loves gets into an accident and needs blood? Imagine had some lazy/nonchalant/apathetic people actually gone out and given blood (rather than rely on everyone else to do it) it could have saved yours or a loved ones life. It is SUPER easy to give blood, and you really could save someone's life!

People with legitimate excuses I have absolutely no problem with, of course

  • 2 weeks later...

Had a nice phone call from Red Cross on Friday thanking us for our support. He asked that I pass on the thankyous to all those who have donated blood through SAU.

Hope we get a big turnout on Saturday, and see you all at Red Cross (MODBURY)

Its not to late to join in if you havent already said you would like to come. It will cost you nothing to attend and you get free food and drinks and a chance to catch up with other SAU members.

yep and I will be a bit hit and run, since we have people coming over for lunch at 12pm.

Cool

Gives me an excuse to have a big breakfast as well. A bacon n egg sanga + a litre of water should keep the constitution up

-D

my being able to donate is a bit questionable this time around. been battling off a pretty heavy infection the last week n a bit, so we'll see i guess.

i'm scared of needles  ......

same here.

    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
