The other day I was cruising around all of a sudden, my car started to shake while idleing at traffice lights, and as I was taking off had little to no power at all. The orange error light or whatever it is came on, and so I shit myself and proceeded home. I turned my car off and was gonna check it later, so I turned it back on after and it seemed normal again... this has happened 2 or 3 times since, while driving to and from uni... car shakes while idleing and loses power when it comes to taking off...

anyone have any idea what the problem might be?

I had the exact same problem for months. So I came to this forum and asked for advice, I was told it was the coil packs and after I changed them I've never had that problem again.

When the problem occurs, see if you can park somewhere and turn off the car for 10-15seconds. Start it again and it see if it runs properly.

Yeah I do that, and sometimes it works.... hm what coil packs did u change urs to?

oooww this happends to me in my R33 also... well when i am coming to a stop i will have clutch fully pressed in and whne the revs drop to the idle amount it sometimes drops lwer then comes back up to idle, however occasionly when it drops it goes to low and just stalls so you have to start her up again... it all sounds fine and runs good before and after it just a random thing that happens.... And im yt to figure out why lol

    • I mean, the 240i is not a Supra... make it drop a few hundred kg, have a sportscar chassis, clearance for wheels etc... Maybe I want a hardtop Z40i XDrive or something :p I do agree with you though and have long said the B58 Supra/240i/340i/440i is the new R Chassis/JDM90's turbo rocket for mod lovers to ... not always appreciative response lol. Doesn't make it not true though.
    • I will do the build myself but I will be paying for the tune because I don't know how much about that and would rather it be done right and by a professional
    • Will you build and tune it yourself or do you need to pay for labour?
    • Mechanically that's essentially what the M240i is, it's just not pretending it's not a BMW
