Hi All,

I feel sad doing this, but since I've moved way out into the bush, my beloved R34 rarely sees any use.

There is only one sealed road out of town, and too many critters to dodge!

Here's the basic info:

R34 GTT, manual, black, done approx. 60K KM (need to check new odo).

Vehicle was imported either very late last year or very early this year.

I purchased it in January this year - was stock standard except for the Nismo coilover suspension.

Since then I have done the following:

- New* Power FC (*purchased 2nd hand but was never used)

- New Greddy Profec B Spec II

- New FMIC

The above was fitted and tuned by Croydon Racing Developments in Sydney (210KW ATW)

- New Xforce turbo back system (3 or 3.5") - 2 weeks later I had a different resonator and Varex muffler fitted.

(still have the xforce pipes/resonator/cannon muffler/hanger etc. which should bolt straight on. I'm thinking of keeping the Varex for my next vehicle)

- New 18" wheels and tyres (forgive my poor memory - been an eventful year - but have all receipts).

- Panel air filter

- New Alpine stereo system & speakers

- New Rhino alarm system

- New Nismo 300KM/H cluster

- Had the door glass tinted

- New Splitfire coil pack fitted

- New battery

- New Targa Tasmania custom plates

As mentioned, I have all receipts for the above.

And I'm sure I've forgotten other things done...

So far I have only fed the engine 98 octane fuel and Motul 300V oil.

I have treated this car with the utmost care and kept it under 6000RPM. Apart from a few high speed runs, I haven't come close to thrashing the car. I did intend taking it to Oran Park and elsewhere, but ran out of time before moving to Tassie. And now I just plain don't have the time to take it to any track (plus I'm a good hour away from the nearest track).

Paint is in good shape, and comes up beautifully after a wash and application of good polish.

Basically I'm just in the wrong place for a car like this - I want to replace the R34 with a Forester, which is a better choice for here.

Bad points -

Only one that I can think of, being a small car park type dent in the door, approx. 5mm in diameter. Paint still intact within dent.

Not bad enough to bother repairing in my opinion and I rarely remember that its there. Oh, and no rear wiper arm (if that's a problem).

I'm looking for around $25,500 neg for the vehicle as-is.

I haven't added up what I've spent (I don't wanna know!) but basically everything bar the suspension was bought and fitted this year, so all mods are in excellent condition, with warranty and I didn't compromise on parts choice or who worked on my R34. I didn't go over the top regarding performance mods - just took it to 210KW at the wheels. Taking it further will involve a bigger fuel pump and turbo, just to give you an idea.

Drives the same as the stock vehicle - until you keep pushing the pedal that is :)

*Note: car park ding is just below door handle - not really obvious from most angles

I am located near Fingal (NE Tas) and probably best way to contact me is via PM or email at the moment.

Probably forgotten some important details, but I've wanted to get this post listed for a few weeks - so here it is :)

Of course, if by chance you have a Forester to trade, please contact me.

Also chasing a decent quad bike, could part trade with cash adjustment.

Needless to say, no time wasters please... don't enquire unless you are seriously interested.

Negotiable, but not by too much - I think its good value given the choice of mods, the age and documentation provided.

I could always return the vehicle to mostly stock... then sell off the after market parts... but would prefer not to.

If I can't turn this into a Forester (suitably modifed of course!) then I may as well keep it.

Thanks for looking :)

Cheers

Still haven't pulled my finger out and made a serious attempt to sell my 34 :domokun:

It's been sitting in the garage, no doubt feeling lonely. I reckon I'd have been lucky to have clocked up 300KM this year.

All the details are much the same (since bought a quad bike though), price reduced to $23200, rego and insurance has been maintained.

Still chasing a Forester - but need to sell this first. I don't need a fourth vehicle to keep registered!

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
