Thanks Shane, wont be using V power then and sticking with BP Ultimate.

My works the same at the moment slow as anything because holden and ford :) .... At the begining of the year however I was working 6-7 days a week and I was loving it. Im hoping the rumor of 5 weeks off over christmas doesnt come true, because I'll be in China all of Feb without pay. All my hard work in the begining of the year is cancelling out now ;)

thanks for that info Ruby

Try it for yourself see what ya think!

Yer well rumours true mate, we got a calender here from work atm and we break up on the 13th of december or something and don't back back until mid to late jan....Not good at all! Thought you worked for clipsal??

Seriously Glenn try V-Power your self.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The ONLY problem I've had with fuel in the 8years I've owned the R32 is 'ONCE' and that was with an apparent dirty batch of Mobil 8000.

If fuel made some ones car feel sluggish chances are they picked up the wrong pump thinking it was V-power and the knock sensors pulled a heap of ign. out or somehow the bloke re filling the tanks has pumped a little ULP in to the wrong tank.

If V-Power was known to perform worse tuners etc sure as hell would know about it.

All fuels are pretty much the same. I personally use V-Power is it works well and is slightly cheaper. It doesn't feel like it goes better nor can I push in more ignition on ANY other fuel apart from E10.

Pretty sure i know what pump has V power my friend im not stupid

lol.. Nothing to do with being stupid my friend. :)

I can run ULP and the car doesn't feel any different apart from it pings its arse off.

Your experience is definitely a once off. I have days where i think the car feels punchier or ramps on to boost harder than others. Its just the nature of the beast.

Definatly, somtimes i feel the cars a rocket other times its slow as a wet weak but what can you do

More boost so traction is always an issue then you wouldn't know any better. :P

What is stupid.. Trying to adjust the actuator to line up a little better and breaking the rod. Then having to drive around NASP. Then welded the rod and now can't find the rod that screws on to the actuator and connects to the wastegate flapper. :)

Yeah I did work for clipsal, but now for AI Automotive, as I lost my job at clipsal in January when I finished my apprenticeship... just after a big downsizing in nov / dec last year. AI do some work clipsal out-sourced, so thats how I ended up at AI.

Because we also do aftermarket parts and some clipsal work, im hoping I can manage to work through christmas, as I need a few things fixed on the DR now and Im guessing its not going to be cheap :P (power steering, coilovers [still not done after many months :) ], Muffler/exhuast , New Tyres, Wheel Allignment, Oil Leak, plus any other problems my mechanic can find )... Might get the Front Mount installed aswell while its getting worked on.

Meh AWD in the wrx kinda kills that equation though my friend, and the turbo setup in the DR is to linear even if i wind more boost into it (once i sort out the fuelling issue) i still don't rekon it'll be a wheel spinning fiend of a thing...It kinda reminds me of driving a SR20 on standard boost in its boost delivery...still 8 psi into a turbo designed to work over 16psi probably has something to do with that!

Did you end up finding that rod???

Oh AI automotive eh...we've got a few managers/engineers that came from that place, seems automotive is a place NOT to be right atm!

Shit champ, sounds like you've got as much to do on yours as i do on mine!! Pity i can't find anyone to rebuild my coil overs grrr!! Whats wrong with muffler?? Mine needs wheel alignment as well, needs my weird non brake pedal issue fixed as well...f**k it sell it and buy a GTR?!?!?!?!?

Yeah AI seems abit iffy at the moment I think, how long they will keep going...

My brothers mate rebuilds coilovers, I will get his number and PM it your way... The muffler got worn out by scraping too many driveways, So im just getting an exhuast made up like Josh's Purple beast as it looks good.

Funny I was just talking to my gf about a 32 GT-R on friday night, but I think I would regret selling the DR like Crimmo and Tom did :D ... also I wont get what I want for my DR ;)

Meh automotive in general is iffy mate....Refer to my post in the wasteland!

Oh i KNOW i'd regret selling the DR hence i haven't!!! Even though it hasn't moved for a while now haha!!

Yer that'd be sweet, i've organised to get some standard one's at some stage in life but probably won't happen for a while either on that front!! Bloody cars lol!!

    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
    • My experience with Rising Sun Exports Before agreeing to the sale I tried to do as much research as I could (obviously), his Facebook reviews are 98% and he goes Live at least once or twice a week. I contacted 2 people in the UK who had used him for their imports, both had positive feedback. His explanation and talk through of the import process was thorough, answering any query no matter how stupid it was. It felt as soon as the money was sent, communication dropped off. I asked for shipping updates every 2 weeks or so, not wanting to pester him, he never had any updates. I wasn't informed the car had been dropped off at the port, I only found out by his Facebook story. I asked for the photos taken at the port, knowing he would need some for insurance purposes. I received a few 5 second clips and that's it. When asked again, he said his staff had them. Weeks later I asked again, he tells me he doesn't have any, but does have 50 photos from the original advert. I never received them. I eventually got the documents sent via WhatsApp after I mentioned the port was requesting them. I purchased a CarVX report, to find out the vehicle is a Grade R with recorded accident damage, first recorded in 2017 when it was first auctioned. He never told me the grade, then again I didn't ask. His response was "Grade R means nothing, it wasn't chassis damage". Still, I would have liked to have been informed about it. Jon prides himself on being open and honest when it comes to inspecting cars, it's his main job doing so at the auctions for customers. When the vehicle arrived in the UK I noticed a few little cosmetic issues. It's a 21 year old car so it wasn't going to be mint condition. The side skirts are cracked on each corner and the sealant is failing. The front grill on the bonnet/hood isn't secured very well, mounting studs are missing. Both minor things, but again, it would have been nice to be told. During a Facebook Live walk around video of the vehicle, he mentioned it has a front Whiteline anti roll bar/sway bar. While on the inspection ramp, I noticed the stock item has been installed. When first questioned, his response was "the ARB? Switched? Since when, it never had them". Since sending video and photo evidence I've not received a response. I'm probably being over critical of the overall condition of an old car, but all I wanted was honesty (which he claims to have). I'm aware I wasn't his only customer, he's busy doing XYZ but other reviews praise him for great communication with regular updates and photos, I felt I didn't receive the same treatment.
