omg

i was going past that kfc like a minute before that happened :|

omg its a sign... :yucky:

Seems like whenever there is a horrible car crash the driver survives most of the time, and one or more passengers are killed.

pretty sad to hear. condolences to family. and shame on the driver, theres a time and place for shit like that, but NOT with 4 other people in the car.

*waits for aca hoon story*

Ok here the thing you come waking round the corner hand in hand with Lockie to the sound a screeching tyre's and a wrx screaming towards you no time to move or even say save me Jesus, you and Lockie are pinned to the stobie your knocked out cold and Little Lockie didnt stand a chance killed instantly, you wake up 3 months later from a massive brain heamoridge you ask to see Lockie not knowing he has been killed.

a little dramatic i think not you were with me the night we saw a young lady killed on the side of the road run over in the prime of her life

yeah bunny, steve is religious, church goer etc and I look up to him (yes you madaz!) for that, although its not my belief

200% I know steve would have said his prayers for the deceased.

rip, and I hope many many ppl can learn from this.

++++++

now, big one. will effect my mind at night for a long long time

last night I picked up my 2.5yr old Deontae from child care, on walk home he ran across the road when I said "after this car" and he was mm from being killed 1m in front of me

so so scary. speeding car, not holding hands for a moment (oh god never again, I cant forgive myself for what happened yesterday), standing partially behind a parked car so child coulnt be seen by van driver,

he bolted as soon as I said "after......" and I couldnt do anything. so helpless with no knees, just could not move fast enough 1m to my front/left to grab him - no stability to move quickly.

van saw him and swerved (no brake lights) very minimally, then realized what happened. came back and abused me angrily, tarago full of family/kids, they were off their tap, understandably. all I said was Im sorry about 5x.

if she didnt move the steering wheel to the right by 5mm, it would have been death - I saw it in a flash, deontae flung 30m to the sidewalk, almost dead life and death.

I see preminitions, life choices like dejavu where there are 2 choices right there and then, and 2 outcomes, both that massively effect your life path. Ive had these visions since childhood, and see things what can happen and then what does happen, all in a split second.

I saw what almost happened to my child.

It was horrible, seeing for 0.1sec him hit and in the air for 30m, then the .1sec of life/death after being hit, then the actual event the next .2sec where the van sped past and missed by half a foot.

wow

to the van driver, Im sorry, but I thank god you were attentive enough to make an adjustment to your steering.

everyone , slow down in metro area where kids could be.

Thats a nice fanciful story there steve but it hardly justifies the comment about wrx owners learning their lesson...yes, shit happens but an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. The driver is going to have to live with the fact he killed somebody. Isn't there a christian saying about 'turning the other cheek'?....

EDIT: Actually the saying I was thinking of was 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone'

whats so sad here is that the deceased had his life xroad path in front of him when he decided to get in that seat, not at the accident scene.

so far back in time (when got in car), so innocent as far as his choice to do so instead of not getting in car, but getting in that seat, saying whatever ie "nice corner" 5minutes before or something, each minute there are life xroad choices............., such a simple and innocent personal choice (to get in car) ended his life.

see it in your eyes, learn a lesson. just be so careful, we wield the power of life and death over other people.

make your choices wisely

hmmm, I can definitely see 2 sides here.

1./ The hoon drivers out there (not just WRX drivers) definitely need to learn a lesson from this....if someone killed my kid from hoon behaviour, there would be 2 funerals & 1 imprisonment. My dad would always say, "Learning from other people's mistakes is always better than learning from your own".

2./ You have to feel compassion for all involved, including the driver.........we can't imagine how this will affect the rest of his and his familiy's lives from here on.

yeah, reading this and what happened to me / deontae last night - really hits home for me

just got to be that 5% more careful in metro area

never had accident, and am so careful, but really we all need to be on the ball.

100% concentration

You've taken that out of context Ben and too many people use that as an excuse to turn a blind eye to the wrong doings of others.

That quote was directed at people about to kill a female for prostitution when some of them had been guilty of the same or worse

I don't think I've taken it out of context, simply because it (as a saying) has become part of western life. I'm sure some of the dickheads out there who are beating their chests about this have done stupid things aswell. Cause lets face it, nobody is a saint, nobody leads a flawless life, and therefore people should look in the mirror. I love it how hypocritical this society is. Say one thing, do the other...

Are we all going to heap shit on someone for a stupid stupid mistake? I'm not. If you guys want to hate on, thats your prerogative, I for one would prefer to forgive and live without the bad karma.

Edit; incidentally, if the men were going to stone a prostitute and were guilty 'of the same or worse' does that mean they were all whoring themselves?

    • At least yours have parkour down pat. One of mine will still trip over his own shadow and fall over... He's a special type of cat... Ha ha ha
    • The question then becomes - was there any fluid coming from that hole before you did the rebuild ?    You may not have noticed, of course.   Depending on how you did the rebuild, the possibility has to be considered that somehow (cleaning ?)  fluid entered that hole and is now being 'forced'  out by small movements of the proportioning valve.   From the factory, there's actually a small rubber plug in that hole but with age and under-bonnet heat it's quite common for it to 'go missing'.  That rubber plug is designed to allow the venting process but also to prevent 'stuff' getting to the area (prevent corrosion, etc).   The plug is also not available as a spare part AFAIA. Personally I wouldn't race and buy a new master just yet but keep an eye on the area to see if the 'leak' continues.   If you're concerned about brake fluid damaging nearby paintwork, cable tie a piece of suitable absorbant material over the hole and remove/monitor occasionally.    Operation of the proportioning valve and the brake master itself won't be affected, but also keep an eye on brake fluid level, of course. In terms of a new master, the genuine part is getting expensive, unfortunately.  Amayama is showing AUD900+.   I was searching recently and there's an aftermarket part available from Japan made by 'Parts Assist': https://zenmarket.jp/en/yahoo.aspx?q=BNR32%2bBM50&p=1 Whether it's any good I have no idea, although in my experience Japanese aftermarket stuff is pretty good quality-wise.   The above site allows overseas buyers to purchase stuff more easily from Japan but there are fees and shipping costs, of course.   The original Japanese seller page is here: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p1197401228 Copper/Nickel is fine but I still prefer bundy tube and it's also cheaper.
