Hye Peeps,

my Colleague wanted to get a Hyundai Tiburone, asking if there is anything wrong with it, like manufacturing flaws etc etc. If anyone have one of them please post your thoughts and comment about the car. Cheers

If he's after a new one, tell him to hold off a few months - the next model will be RWD.

they are very fast cars! aparently they go faster then a twin turbo supra according to need for speed. jk

nah they seem to be alright despite the hyundai badge. they dont look as bad as the old s'coupe and aparently have pretty decent handling.....for a korean sports car.

Im hoping your colleague is female, if thats not the case

do you guys happen to work in a hairdessing salon!?!?! :)

Sorry I couldnt resist..... Tiburon?!?!? Stop it.

If its a female that wants one ok fair enough i can kind of understand that. But if its a male, what makes him want a Tiburon? Honestly i just don't understand why people actually go "Yes i want one of these cars". For the money there are much more sporty/faster/better built cars out there. So whats the appeal of the Tiburon?

wiat till the hyundai genesis coupe comes out in australia prob late 09

3.6l v6 (about 300hp) or a 2l turbo 4 (about 230hp) rwd, 6 speed man - goes hard

the 2.7L v6 tibby's can be supercharged very easily and will trash the pants of a lot of other cars.....

hi peeps thanks for comment I found an article on tiburone, they are fuel guzzler due to bad gear ration, I think it was saying the car will be at 2.5k rpm at 100km, or sumthing. he's decided not to get riburone. cheers guys

He aint getting one because it uses a lot of fuel........the dude doesn't know the meaning of using a lot of fuel, get him to drive a heavily modified skyline for a few weeks to truely appreciate the word "fuel consumption".

my mum has one. the one before they updated it.

its a good little car.

manuals are better, my mums is an auto. a very shit auto, tiptronic that changes by itself and doesnt hold gears.

other than that, its a good car to drive.

and its pretty good on fuel too.

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
