oh okay, yea some rather silly overtaking on blind corners by some people!but i welcome that the cruise was still a steady reasonable pace which was awesome!and the olds, well i have spoken to them a few times, and i continue to wonder how they do what they do? the fact they support a scene (imports/drift) that took their son away is rather breath taking! olds, i think i can comment on behalf of everyone, keep up the good work, your very approachable people, and from what i have heard, you support people in any way possible which is something to be proud of! thanks again jonny

^^^ Jonny, why'd you think oh shit? Bit of a late overtake? I got halfway and thought 'oh, f**k'. Safer to keep going then the suddenly brake and cut back in behind him (plus I thought you'd be bring up the rear at a hot pace). Believe me, that move kept my palms well lubricated haha

Now, by boat, you mean my suspension is soft as? Yeah, I need coilovers...

That car accident was the worst bit, split us all up which resulted in my and Mark (blue S15) cruising for the majority of the way to Victor, untill BAM white 32 GTR, Red S13, White S13, and a few others all of a sudden were tagging along.

yeah i had to detour to get some petrol, the other cars followed, time we all turned around and got back on track, u guys must have gone past. was a nice thrash, been forever since ive done that.

all overtaking was fine, nothing sus lol. everyone had a good time.

^^^Were you in the red S14?

I saw Type Vu at the meet spot and was surprised to see Luke Fink on the cruise also.

yeah dude, that was me. vu was only there to get beer.

Made this quickly. not the best one but meh. Not bad for a quick pan with a handy cam.

Pitty about the car park situation at Victor would have been good to run back to Adelaide in a group well maybe next time...

awsome cruise! hey matty you didnt happen to be filming when i went past you as you were pulled over after the over taking lane were you? :)

nah was waiting for a mate of mine in his RX7 from interstate (looked in my mirror and he wasnt there lol)

Big thanks to everyone who came along and showed their support! Means a lot to me, and no doubt to 'the Olds'.

Everything went pretty well, especially considering the lack of organisation on my part lol...

Hope most enjoyed the route, spewin it was as busy as it was but I certainly wasn't expecting that... would have been nice to get a decent run down into yank & normanville thru that windy hills section but we were held up by many a car who for some reason required 2.5 lanes to negotiate their falcoon wagon down even at only 9.6km/h ??? and somehow it's us who earn the 'bad driver' label ??

Also apologies to everyone for the victor parking situation... yet another thing I definitely didn't forsee as being quite that bad :)

But to those who snagged a park, & stayed for lunch, well done, thank you.

All in all, was a good day, cheers again for all the donations, both time & money...

Special thanks to Nicko & the 'Smooth Garage' boys for sponsoring the cruise, Little bec for helping with donations, Mike Cop for donating his time for the shoot, 'SASLY' for his donation & also a CONGRATS to him for winning the shoot too.

Mark & Jules - We love you guys... your generosity, love & support is second to none.. Our scene wouldn't be the same without you both.

Can't wait for the BSM Cruise, keen as mustard to stretch the GTR's legs (& maybe flex its muscles too) on that one!!

Thanks again, speak soon.

Lindo & Bec

    • So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?
    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
