Sl!m
Hi Everyone, My cousin is getting married this year in Florida and they want me to take photos for them.. it's a small ceremony and nothing over the top so they don't want to spend a lot of money so I said i'd be happy to do it. I've never really taken photos of people so don't really know what to use.. so was hoping I could get some ideas from people here... I am thinking I will probably need an external flash and a diffuser.. what about filters and stuff and what settings are best for indoors etc? any info would be helpful sam Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/251266-taking-photos-of-people/ Share on other sites

Lepperfish
You'll want a fast lens to start with. I have a few that I use for that sort of stuff. Canon EF 135 f/2L - EF 24-70 f/2.8L - 70-200 f/2.8L etc.. If you want to bounce flash check out the gary fong lightsphere clear and cloud diffusers.. They look really good. I haven't used one yet, but I will each of those 2 I reckon.. www.garyfong.com Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/251266-taking-photos-of-people/#findComment-4350648 Share on other sites

Echo63
using a diffuser outdoors is a good way to flatten your flash batteries, and overheat your flash (they are great indoors though) outside, just point the flash straight at them dialed down 1/3 - 1 stop just to fill the shadows Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/251266-taking-photos-of-people/#findComment-4364959 Share on other sites
