Hey guys just thought would keep people in the general southside know i had sombody kick in my front door this afternoon. i was next door visiting family when we heard a banging sound outside and at first i thought maybe was somebody knocking on my front door. i looked over and my front door was open when i went over to the house i found what seemed to me a junkie raiding cupboards in my kitchen when i yelled out he ran at me and pointed a knife at me (knife was his own all mine still there) told me he was gonna stab me in the face and ran out the door and up the street.

All this happend at 1545 this afternoon in broad daylight. worst thing is my 33 was in the driveway so why the hell break in when it looks like somebody is home. cops took around an hour and a half to show up. they will be back to try the whole facial recognition thing tonight dunno how that will go all happend so fast. and cant use my kitchen tonight as they wont be around to fingerprint until tomorrow.

So to all please ensure your homes are secure. The front door on our rental place is more a door that should be used internally as even with a double deadbolt this prick still got in. Nothing was missing i honestly think he was lookin for prescription drugs of some kind. And i got out of it without getting stabbed . And he never touched my car either and the gps was stuck on the window to boot.

if you see a male approx 5ft 10 ish id say causcasion sandy gingery hair crew cut really rough lookin stockyish build randomly roaming around your nieghbourhood be weary

yeah i mean ive had knifes pulled on me before but for some reason or another this time i just froze up. dad reckons its probably coz i was at home its fairly different on how it gets to you as opposed to being on the street.

wot area was this at ? my bro inlaws house got done not to long ago at heritage park actually the whole street got done in the same night n last week the next street over got done in too they must be doing the area in heritage park

yeah mate dog would be good but being rental place is up to the owner and there is no fence sadly. but if he puts up a fence and allows dogs i want a huge ass bullmastif. least im sure thats what it is. they have one at springwood suzuki and it is huge. anyways its 3am need sleep. got cops coming to fingerprint the place sometime today hopefully he is on record somewhere and they have requested footage from local trainstation incase thats how he got here or left that way. sad to hear its happened to others but in away kinda glad im not the only one if that makes sense.

Wow man thats sad as.

When you said southside I started thinking 'oh shit' but Im not that far south..

This time last year I had my car broken into... nothing stolen... just broken into.

Also - thanks for a description, that will always help :)

yeh no problem mate as i say if it will help people see him coming. so sick of coming on here and seeing threads of peoples stuff being stolen or vandalised cars or otherwise. they really need to bring back the good old days of public floggings for pieces of trash like this.

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
