Hi guys...

I have a bit of a problem , yesterday while washing my r34 i noticed a log crack on my windscreen , so now i need to find someone who can source a screen for a r34 sedan.

Has anyone has their wind screen replaced on a R34 sedan in sydney , i need someone soon cause the crack is starting to bigger.

Last time I got a crack on my windscreen on my previous car, I just called up my insurance company and they gave me a free windscreen. I think i'm entitled to one per year. Might be worth seeing if your insurance company can do the same. Btw, they sent me to Windscreens O'Brien.

Thanks for the fast replay guys.

I have called up a guy in sydney that might be able to get the windscreen I'm waiting for him to call me back.

Originally i have sourced a screen from a import place but it was for a coupe.... and they are slightly different from the sedans , so if anyone has a sedan and had the windscreen changed can you tell me if the screen is hard to source?

Cheers

Just an update guys

I have call 3 places yesterday

M&M Windscreens

O'Briens

National Windscreens Group

So far all of them have told me they will need to call me back since they can only source the coupe windscreen and don't have any sedan screens in stock.

Ok guys

The guys and M&M have been able to get me a screen , but the cost is around 450 installed.

I know that a bit expensive but i can't risk driving for too long on the road with a cracked windscreen.

I have had no replay from O'Briens and National Windscreens Group so far and the guys at Novus windscreens were the worst didn't even bother getting my details just asked for a contact number and said they will call back.

I have made a apointment to have the screen replaced on thursday.

I'll updated you guys after it is all done.

Cheers

Well its either $450 or risk the troubles in the long run for a cracked windscreen.

$450 sounds ok, prices may have gone up since I got mine done in 2005 and its a R32 as yours is a R34...

Have you tried to give Nissan a call? See what they say, but Im sure to say $450 is a better price then what Nissan will quote.

    • Bit difficult to follow. Have a look below and see what the standard R32 layout was like. Note there was a restrictor in place immediately before "turbocharged pressure control solenoid" that, if removed, magically got you 1 bar boost.
    • I might be way off the mark here.. there must be a T junction under the manifold. That takes manifold pressure through a check valve prior to the T, one side splits out to this bleed off orifice, the other straight to the wastegate actuators.
    • Carrying out some engine due diligence before my first drive in a 260RS that has been in storage for 10+ years, and found two lines that are susposed to be plumbed into the boost control solenoid. One of the lines (the wastegate boost supply line) to actuate the gates, had a bolt in one end blocking it. The other line (main boost signal line) from the very rear of the intake manifold (RB26DETT) and runs up to the boost controller had this pill in the end of it as seen in photos. Other than the obvious (T28 Ceramic turbos might well be cooked)  Can anyone shed any light on if there is any validity at all with this mod, bleeding a constant fixed rate of manifold boost pressure off through this 3mm hole?  Is it deliberate?  Was this a 90s Jap mod done to RB26's? Or has someone just fitted this without any idea of what happens to ceramic T28s if they are not gate controlled?
    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
