WOoOoOohOoOooO!!!! Just picked up my 2007 R6 today!!! loving life but hated life on the ride home from prospect - paralowie its SO HOT!!!!!

well here she is... im so happy :P

Excellent choice! The R1s are too much of a handful on road, but the R6 is very useable in every way. I've always found the R1 and R6 sexy looking bikes.

On another note, I found my old Aprilia RS250 race bike and have the option to buy it back! :D

Its just had a full engine rebuild too.

are you going to buy it back? ^_^

I have a buyer for a ZXR in my garage, but just need to fix a small fault in the clutch basket. When that sells I'll have the money to throw away on getting the Prilly. I have the money there, but I gotta travel to Phillip Island to work in a few weeks = $. So the ZXR sale will def secure it. I def want the RS250 back! Its good to see a bike you built for the track come back in almost the same condition.

Me and a mate previously set that thing up to be a great sub-2 minute 250 around Phillip Island when I first got it 3 years ago. Which is not bad at all for a 250 with stock gearing and it was running with a dodgy rear cylinder at the time (the Aprilia RS250 is a two-stroke v twin 250cc bike for those who didn't know). Its now got a 520 race chain conversion with lower gearing and a few other mods. My pommy mate reckons a 1m50s around Phillip Island is in the bag.

Asked my pommy mate of mine who use to race the RS250 back in the day, if he'd like to go halves for kicks and giggles!

Bah. Those bikes all look so damn hot. Makes me wish I had one but alas my eyesight is bad enough that I'm restricted from 2 wheels ;P

-D

mmm rs250 is choice, thats a good colour too!

Damn! Spoke to my mate and the RS250 is being offered back to me at a very affordable price. And a well-kown RS mechanic did the engine rebuild :P

The RS250 doesn't look like that now (in the pic above). Last I saw it, it sported a red/white paint scheme with no decals. If/when I get her back, I'll restore her to her former glory. :) It was putting out 60hp. If I get her back, I'll change the expansion chambers and remove the magneto to free up more power and throttle response (hopefully closer to 68hp from a 130kg bike!!!)

I gotta sell shit quick! Someone buy my Stagea!

A quick pic of the RS in action. This is a pic of when I first got the RS250. This is during testing on the track and setting it up for an upcoming race ...

damn that looks tough too! wish they allowed the rs and rgv's with r-date licence... nice bikes.

atm looks like ill be going up to a drz400sm after i sell the cibby... seems like the best choice for my height till im on my fulls.

guess it'd be more comfortable as i ride every day rain or shine to uni n back. opinions? i never ridden one but hear nothing but good things!

A mate of mine at 6'1" and 95kg loves his DRZ400SM. Its the most fun wheelie machine there is ;) I'd thought about getting one myself ... but I already have too many bikes ;)

I'm glad L platers can't get RS250s. First time I took my RS out on the track I topped 190 thru turn 4 at Mallala screaming in 4th!!! Fair enough mine was in race trim, but f**k the little thing is quick. They are blindingly quick in corners. Most corners I can go thru at 10-20kph quicker at the apex, but I'm already accelerating thru the turn, so I have a higher acceleration out of the turn than on my old 600 race bike.

well here she is... im so happy

I heard word that you're not licensed to be riding an R6.

If you do not have a license to ride the R6 then you should stick to learner approved motorcycles. Most bikers (as well as cops) do not take too kindly to unlicensed/restricted riders on bikes they're not permitted to.

If this is not the case, then happy riding. ;)

ruby wtf?

reads like you're having a go at him.

why? whats the point?

beaut bike BTW - really looks neat.

kietz enjoy the new ride dude! go easy stay safe and give it some every weekend.

went down to check out the 2009 drz400sm today... prices went up a fair bit, think ill need to settle for an earlier model. The guy there said he can do me a deal on my bike + some cash for the drz but wasnt able to tell me how much.

hmm gotta start hunting around.

    • Mine is all -12, I’m running a dry sump in a billet block though
    • HG's high flow is not "bolt on". The core is shorter, moves the comp cover rearwards in the engine bay. means you have to deal with the inlet plumbing a little bit. This is probably something to consider with every "bolt on" turbo anyway.
    • HyperGear. Just get a high flow of the stocker. Good, reliable, and should bolt on. Yes it will want things like a retune once done, so you need to factor this in to your spend too.
    • Hi. Iam looking for some "cheaper" bolt on turbo on RB25DET NEO. I do not want "big" power just better reliability than the stock turbo which is "fot now" good but is old and i do not think it has "easy" life. One the Skyline here running some "temu" china Turbo but i dont trust those... Thanks!
