Got EPA'd again.... this time we actually have to take it to Mcleod or wherever to the EPA testing place.

Where both sick to death of the damn exhaust and its not so its time to get a new one that isnt so bloody loud and has a removable silencer (but isnt overly loud without it).

Anyone know someone with a soarer exhaust? aftermarket prefered... or at least where to get a decent one for it?

i was thinking with the other one we could keep it and cut out the resonator and mufflers and just weld in some str8 pipe for when we take it to calder and stuff.

nark - i have the older style Trust Mx with front pipe (no dump pipe) on my soarer. Its really not that loud at all apart from at full revs, but mines an auto so there a bit less... but it really is a nice zorst. Only thing is your looking at about 2k just for catback (its dual)

what do you have now?

cheers,

dave

lol omg u posted in here :P

nothing wrong with my foot... altho i almost got done on the way home... was speeding just a "little" on one section... nothing major like 2 over or something... memorys not that great :(

dave - not looking at wasting too much money on it... i think the exhaust place we took it to to put the stockie on for the last test said it was a 4" trust system with a copy end bit (not sure on the correct term for it :))

going to Daalder on the weekend... i doubt they will be able to reduce the exhaust to 90DB with one resonator... altho it already has one on it as well as an extra muffler but its going to restrict it too much.

no nark is just talking to himself and his alter-personality again :(

pretty rough about another EPA, think cops would have better crap to do.. McLeod really must get sick of it, although the guy said he liked seeing the nice cars come in each week :P

    • Today, I'm a Breville BES920 tech, new triac board and new 3x way solenoid. Had overheating issues, home RCD tripping when it got warm, and the boiler stayed on when the machine was shut off. Also, usually 3x way solenoid chatter, this is the 3rd time I'm replacing it. Mind you, this machine is 9 year old and send it every day doing at minimum 3x double shots. When the in laws come over to took after my daughter, it will easily see 6x double shots in a single day. Tried to be somewhat compliant, crimped and then used a screw connector over the top. Would have preferred to use heat shrinks.   After all that, turns out all the overheating has damaged the o-rings to the steam tap as well. Ordered new ones, coming soon.
    • Still got it- First time checking sau in a while ahhaha
    • I don't know about that. I can hoon my R32 around - hard launches, high lateral Gs - with <<1/4 tank without any such shenanigans. This with the previous 040 and the current GSS342. I would suspect a fuel line problem. One of the hoses associated with the top of the tank perhaps.
    • This is amazing. Love that you’re giving the boys an intro to cars and off the screens. They probably have an insta for the car and build posts on TikTok for their mates.
    • It is.  Your car works fine with the tank full. If you drive like a Nana it works fine.  You give it a boot full with half a fuel tank, you get surge.  It 100% is a fuel surge issue. Maybe have a look at installing a Hydramat if you don't want to install a surge tank.  https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/hydramat/
