Altessa Sensors

Hey all,

I'm having a minor issue with my 4WD light coming on intermittently, leaving a 'chunky' feeling in the steering when cornering. I've replaced my ALTESSA fluid and bled the system properly, so I'm 99% sure that's not the problem. I usually park the car at work (mainly drive it to and from work, about 15-20 minutes each way), and when I get back in to drive home, it's business as usual.

I've read that faulty sensors can cause issues like what I'm having, but I have NFI where to find them!

And as most of you all know, search for 'ALTESSA' on here leads you to a gazilion pages of nothing to do with what I want to know, so I'm asking the people who know!

i'd suggest doing a diagnostic on the attessa system, might be able to point you in the direction of a particular sensor.

How do I do the diagnostic test? Do I need to go to my local Nissan dealer, or would performance workshops have the gear?

My bad....long day working in the sun has fried my spelling ability!!

My tyres are fine, just put factory 16" Stagea rim back on the car with 225/50 Nankang's all round. Rides much better than the 18's I was borrowing for a week!

hey greg,ive got a series 1 RS4 and same thing,but my 4WD light has been on ever since i bought it,previous owner said its on because its in 4WD mode...?talking shit i think,car goes in on tuesday for 100,000 service,restoring rev limiter/speed cut (last japanese owner removed it) and a decent tune.will definately mention 4WD light issue to them and see what comes of it.will let you know mate
