Hey guys, recently just had this issue. The problem is that when i put my foot down in 3rd or 4th or any of the gears well mainly the 3rd or 4th(MANUAL), my rev just goes back a little bit like the car dies out but comes back a second.. Could this be my clutch? it feels like a clutch issue. My current mods to my car atm are a Full 3" exhaust with highflow cat, Bleed valve @ 10-11psi, Apexi Pod,FMIC,walbro fuelpump 255l,splitfire coil packs with plugs BCP6RES 0.8mm. Thanks. I was thinking if it was the clutch?

Geraus.

Clutch would mean the car rev's up more easily/free without actually going any faster.

To me, basically the same as every other thread on the mid RPM 'hole'.

Your running 10-11psi on the stock ECU so its likely to be having a fit and going into R&R mode (which is impecably well documented)

when im doing about 70kms on 3rd gear full throttle, the car just splutters or for like half a 2nd then clims up ... usually when you put your foot down it just pulls off... now it does some sort of half a 2nd stutter...

i just checked em before. everything is fine, it still goes down like i duno how to explain it, i thnk its the clutch sleeping when i put my foot down......

Red bull would really wake up a sleeping clutch......

so it could be the timing? Because it was fine just a couple of days ago............could it be the gearbox?

il try and explain it again.... Just say im on 3rd gear and my rev is at about 3-4prm .. If i plant my foot down, my car will stutter for about half a mili second n then just pull a lil.... sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesnt. .. its wierd...

ive got a similar problem. except mine does it in 3rd 4th at about 2-3000rpm. i could notice it more when i got my new turbos put in.

ive been told my car runs lean and the timing retards which causes like a jerking sensation, only for a split second or while im "cruising" and my revs are floating from 2-3000rpm.

correct me if im wrong.

hopes this helps

not a clutch, gearbox or diff issue, its 100% around the engine,

as R31Nismoid has said, check things like spark and timing, AFM, to be honest, could be something to even do with fuel,

say when you put your foot down, it just puts a lot more fuel into the engine then wat its ment to which causes the drop in power because it cant really burn it (splutters), then once thats out of the system 0.5secs or what ever it might be it will burn normal again and you get power back,,

If it was your clutch and you put your foot down, revs will go up, speed will go down becuase your not going anywhere, and normally once it starts burning like that it wont grab at the higher revs,

so take the point of gearbox or clutch completely out,

    • Hi...so a "development" here aswell The swap is "done" and car went "test drive" BUT it seems the clutch(maybe gearbox?) is a little bit sad? I bought this clutch kit https://justjap.com/products/xtreme-heavy-duty-organic-clutch-flywheel-kit-nissan-skyline-r31-r32-r33-push-type "Problem" is that the first gear is hard to put into and it seems that the clutch is not disengaged. It was not the problem with the old clutch...(or like sometime the first gear would not get as easy specialy when the fluid was cold) So? Can it be like...bad "install" or is the clutch wrong ((it should not have been) i done research to get the right one) Or is this "normal" with new clutch and needs to be break in?
    • @Duncan I can try  and thanks i did not thought about VIN and part numbers for 33/34. @GTSBoy yeah it looks like iam gonna do that
    • Forgot to include this but this is the mid section of my steering rack that looks like it has a thread/can be turned with that notch mentioned in the post:
    • Hey everyone, Wanted to pick some brains about this issue I'm having with rebuilding my 33 rack (PN is 49001-19U05). All of the tutorials/videos I've seen online are either R34 or S Chassis racks which seem to be pretty straightforward to disassemble but this process doesnt carry over to my rack. Few of the key differences that I've noted The pinion shaft on the other racks bolt on with 3 torx bolts: Whereas my rack bolts on with 2 allen head bolts: These changes are pretty inconsequential but the main difference is how you pull the actual rack out of the housing. The other skyline/s chassis racks can be taken out by tapping the rack out of the body with a socket and it just slides right out. I'm unable to do that with my rack because there's a hard stop at the end that doesn't let the seal/shaft be tapped out. Can also see a difference in the other end of the rack where mine has a notch that looks like you're able to use a big wrench to unthread 2 halves of the rack whereas the other racks are just kinda set in with a punch. My rack: Other racks: TLDR; Wanted to know if anyone has rebuilt this specific model of steering rack for the R33 and if there were any steps to getting it done easier or if I should just give this to a professional to get done. Sorry if this post is a bit messy, first one I've done.
    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
