i rather walk than use shell!!!

ROFL. That's kinda how I felt as the Vortex was going in.

Hi all,

Im new to all this, i went to fill up 2day and no BP ultimate, so I just filled up with 91, is that bad?? can i get away with it this time....

:domokun:

91 in a tuned turbo car... I would pump out all the fuel out of your tank and replace it with 98 when it becomes available. 91 is for fleet/company/old crappy family cars you don't give a sh*t about. You do know there is Premium 95 at BP if there is no Ultimate 98 right?

no bp 98 at sunshine BP too.

i saw the 98 truck on weds when i went to fuel up. but he hasn't start yet or whatever. so i put in 95. came back today, and nope still no 98. so 95 again for me , that's not bad on a non turbo r33 right?

guy told me that there;s no 98 till next week

i found it didnt like as much timing in the datto, and it ran crappy, and stagea feels like arse on it, mrs's old supra did too... datto's head gasket went on shell, only fuel friends have done head gaskets on is shell, so i will follow my theory that you may think is silly, and i will say i dont like it!

My mechanic did his gaskets in his rally car with Shell.

He said the fuel is too dry for the car and he said something about Optimax containing Toilean (Spelling). Well thats his own experiance anyway...

Thats probley the additive cleaning agent to keep the engine clean, but dries it out at extreme temps hence your gaskets going.

So he needed a 'wetter' fuel, so BP or Mobil was the go and no probs after that.

Im sure there are other factors involved.

Back on topic, I filled up with Mobil Synergy 8000 98 RON.

haha, happens that my motor in my 16 was an ex-rally motor freshened up

Ultimate deliveries are increasing.

Now also on Melton Hwy in Taylors Lakes outbound

Bell St in Corurg got a delivery at 4:30pm today I filled up there at 5 as I saw it pull in 30mins before and was just around the corner. Nothing like fresh fuel.

Still none at Melton BP on High st though

Fuel on Nepean Hwy/North Road BP ultimate with no issues last night, I think its starting to get back into stock.

Apparently nearly all 98 is coming from the Mobil refinery, not including Shell Optimax

Man, dunno how many times I have said it, probably not many actually. BP DO NOT get their fuel from the Mobil refinery! They have their own refineries Kiwana in WA comes to mind. Look here post 26

    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
    • So M12 and sealant should be fine?    NPT ” because that’s what I had and what I could get atm.
    • Wouldn’t touch par if they gave it to me. You need to ask how much power you’re looking to make and then add about 50% to it because that’s what you’ll end up making  The factory box says no more at about 350kw or so, the upgraded synchro boxes won’t handle much over 500kw for long and at that point you’re looking at an auto or dog engagement manual,  once you’ve gone dog engagement you may as well go sequential, they cost a little bit more but it’s worth it  also while you’re at it you should upgrade the transfer case with 10 friction plates
