Hi guys, my M35 only got factory CD player and I'd like to replace it into a single din DVD Player, but I also like the design of the factory OE system.

The 1st pic is mine, and I want the monitor in the 2nd pic.

So, I'll ask in this way ( I know my English is bad~ :) ) :

Is that possible to just buy the monitor system and connect it with my DVD player and reverse camera? (I dont need the DVD player function of OE system, just want to use the monitor!)

Is the image quility of factory one anygood? Can they still automatic float up and down when I switch on and off like the original ones?

Where can I buy them?

And of course, how much they cost? And install cost? Hope its not too expensive......

(Just find something in Japanese ebay, is it the one I'm looking for? Can I find them in Australia? http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k112115533 )

Plz help me guys~~~ I really want to have this set, they looks so cool~~~

Are you saying yours has no screen fitted ? If so, I would imagine that yours has a completely different wiring harness, probably possible with enough time and money, but probably best to go aftermarket. Im sure Chris will give you a definitive answer soon.

we've covered this already. its NOT doable without a lot of $$ - you didn't wish to spend over $500 on the exercise and it will cost a LOT more than that to do.

Thanx mate, I just upload some pics so that maybe help...

Sorry for my bad English first~ I tried to ask Chris before through the phone ( take me a while to explain what I want...) He told me its going to be very expensive that maybe more then $2K... looks like I have to give up this option now......

So, if I go for aftermarket, could u provide me some suggestions about monitor? ATM I cant find the right monitor meet my requirment in SA. (most of them come with DVD player together and I dont need this function)

And because I want to fit it in where the orignal screen is, so it should be thin as well. As pic

So far, any suggestion?

Cheers

that is aftermarket and it bolts into the stock pocket. the system and mounts you could find on yahoo japan but its still going to be expensive.

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
