got in touch with someone at Tein Australia and this is what i got back.

He has however stated:

"Our TEIN SuperStreet coilovers have been approved by QLD Transport (see attachment) but do not have an ADR approval #. You will have to check with your state's Transport Dept about the legality of fitting these to your vehicle"

Oh f*ck.

But... they're not adjustable? Or are they?

Call up regency and ask cause im pretty sure they can only be lowered to the legal height. The ride is heaps soft also.

they are adjustable and is not ADR approved so wont be legal

the spring rate is 4kg all around so pretty soft imo

and yes it will be a while till adelaide has something like the qld transport

cos we are a pissant town :)

just get coils. head down the JIS or car torque, drop $2,000 on the counter, and get some coilovers. sure, its a bit of money, but shit, do it right the first time, or dont do it.

i am looking at a second hand set of teins

apparently they provide a very comfy ride...

does anyone know how to find the spring rates on the teins

carl could you please pm me you coilover specs mate

what ive heard about, and my experience with teins has been rather different, they feel too stiff, even with relatively soft springs (7kg f, 5kg r, in a 180sx), felt pretty jarring.

unless you mean the aussie teins from fulcrum, i think it is?

was in the same situation you are a few months back, thought about going cheap king springs & shocks, but ended up waiting for a few more weeks, and sacrificing a little.

and ended up getting HKS adjustable coilovers and they were well worth the wait, makes a huge difference.

So wait until you have the cash to do it properly.

My 2c anyway.

Plus second hand coilovers aren't that expensive these days, seen sets for like $800.

thats what i was thinking Tom

second hand set in relatively good condition

i am only going to be looking at 8Kg front and 6kg rear

with swaybars the 33 should handle a lot better....

Tom could you also please PM me your coilover specs/ prices etc thanks mate

you dont want hard spring rates for street cars. You want something a bit softer with swaybars. Due to the undulated surfaces of Adelaide's roads, hard coilovers combined with fast driving wont provide the stable grip at all 4 corners you so sorely desire. Krishy is on the right track! I know that Nisskid and SLED know alot more about the physics of my argument.

imho i dont think 8kg front and 6kg rear are too stiff

i could possibly go a wee bit lower maybe 7-5 you never know

but yeah harsh spring rates could actually casue you to loose grip

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
