Hi everyone, i've recently been looking into where i can get a rear strut brace for my C34 stagea from, i know there are a couple of other people on here interested in them as well so this is what i've found.

I've contacted a couple of the site traders with little luck. One site trader said that they can get a stagea specific Cusco item for $335 plus postage and handling to your address. (PM me if you want to know who). I've had a look on yahoo auctions and found them for $380 pph. Also found some places overseas, NZ and USA that can get them but it still works out to be over $300 after postage.

Can anyone shed a little light on where else to get one from? i think the exchange rate at the moment is going to be a big downside for anything coming from japan, and from what i've seen there isn't much change in the price between the places that can get one.

Or alternatively, has anyone successfull fitted a rear brace from another car? little modification eg redrilling mounting holes, is ok.

Something else i found out is, all the C34 stageas, S1, S2, 4WD, 2WD, Autech, Auto, Manual, etc,etc all have the same part number for the rear strut brace in the Cusco catalog. its just the fronts that vary.

mine is "Carbing" branded: probably the chunkiest/thickest one I have seen. It is a very good quality item. Hope that helps, guys... I got mine secondhand over here, so I will be no help with sourcing one.

also, if you're not fussy on bar thickness/design then you can get the cusco AS style brace slightly cheaper than the OS model

yeah i've seen this one. it works out to be only about $30-$40 cheaper than the OS type. IMO the OS type looks alot better than the AS type, also the OS appears to be a bit more rigid.

I would certainly be interested in one if a Group Buy goes ahead. QWK32 you should setup an EOI so that you can get a feel for the numbers, I am sure if we can get at least 10 people then any trader would be happy to give us a discount of sorts maybe 10% :( .

Imo I think the OS strut brace would be the way to go, if your gonna do it might as well do it right and the arse end of the stagea needs quite alot of strengthening across the middle. Strapping a good looking pipecleaner across might look good but I would be dubious about how much additional briacing it would provide.

Greddy: http://www.rhdjapan.com/jdm-low/TRUST-GRed...Strut-Bar-11320 290delivered (on the 27/2/09)

You are viewing a Trust Greddy Aluminum triple tube Rear strut bar. Due to the triple tube design they are more rigid than the Cusco (only twin tube) units that we have for sale as well. The Greddy imprint in the bar is very attractive and bold. It is the only bar that dares to put its brand name right up under the hood and in your face. Only Trust Greddy, no other!

Hey guys, sorry I only just checked my PM's. 'QWK32' Has PMed me about getting a few of the guys together and maybe doing a group buy.

Getting them is no problem, but go through the traders first and see what they can do.

For me to do it, it will take anywhere upto 18 days for delivery as im back at uni this coming week and need to put study first. Please note im not a trader, I only got the last set for a mate and simply made the offer for others who couldnt find them.

Just looking at both those bars. it appears they have different mounting holes. Will they both fit?

The cusco one would look neater cos the tabs come out to the side rather than straight up like the Greddy one. Wouldn't it?

Anyone have photos of an installed Greddy rear strut bar?

have a look at Chooks post in this thred, it has a link that shows pics of the Greddy bar installed, looks real nice.

i would go off the pics on the RHD website as a referance to the actual stagea item, as on the same page other cars are also listed.

ok, i've got a few replys back from some of the traders and other people that are able to source these bars. so far it looks like all options are going to be around the $300 mark. i haven't got time to post them all up at the moment but i would like to know how many people a genuinely interested in getting on of these.

the two i've got prices for are the Greddy one and the Cusco OS type.

i'll be back on later with a few details.

i will be going a greddy as RHD think they are stiffer

they use generic photos for all models, keep that in mind. specify model when ordering, and when ordering endless pads u normall give your VIN or month/year build date.
