OMG my sump crashed into a big ally box with blue bits on it.

I can see me at super cheap from now on.....

"Hi I need some cheap oil for an oil change. 3 bottles of whatever is on special...

"What, 1litre bottles?

"No, 5 each, Brad promised I'd never kill another bearing this way

That's a challenge I really trhink I am up to :(

hey evil chris.....in 10 days.....thus the rush! Oran Park last weekend of May. Wathc out dinosairs

yous drunker than me. I can still type coheirantly when i need too.

There's fancy shit inside it too!

I measured it and you will need 3 bottles of the finest. thats a pretty expensive oil change but still cheaper than a rebuild. Actually it costs me less to buy bearings than it does to buy oil now I think about it!

Still a bottle or two short of my tank!!

If you do another bearing Im dry sumping it and shoving the oil pump up Guss' arse!

There is nothing else we can do about oil control using this stupid pump layout.

Myt welds on that sump are actually pretty straight, needed another crownie before I welded it.

Indeed - no other GTRs entering this round?

Looks like my chances of getting there are better - but still could be impacted on stuff beyond everyone's control. The motor is in the car and will be running with a couple of hours work - then she just needs a run in, check the tune and it's right to go. Fingers crossed.

haha, that's be the day to attend!

His new donk should survive, or it friggin well better cause we don't have the spare built yet.

Sam spent ages checking and double checking then I spent ages checking again before it was assembled.

Duncan seems pretty happy with the sump and external pick up arrangement. The sump only JUST fits inside the sway bar and chassis rails. It held just shy of 14 litres from dry!

good stuff jay. and brad for providing the location :( still a lot to get it ready for the weekend but at least shes running.

Chris - its qual and race 1 on sat, or 2 races on sunday. sunday is probably a better day to watch.

well actually, if you wanted to see my car run.....waiting until sat was too late.

oil supply issue to the head led to a snapped cam while running it in - so I've gone from just making this round to missing it by a mile :D

    • If it (the code) wasn't still current, it should have gone away by itself by now. No, nothing it 10/10. But it is quite likely. Everything else to do with the ignition could still be responsible (which is wires and connectors). The car is an old piece of shit now, so all the wires and connectors are also old pieces of shit.
    • Lock me in mate, although I'm not sure if I'll be heading up from Goulburn or down from Sydney, either way, return will be back to Goulburn
    • Sounds good, we will aim to be there! @The Bogan I'll give you a shout if you are heading up to campbelltown for the meet too.
    • Before I get to the test day, just to finish off the android head unit. This is a demo from car start up....the standard/host system takes a few seconds to boot (same as all v37) but Android comes up quickly. In this vid I'm using the delivered launcher but have set the default to Agami since which is easier to navigate when if use primarily 5 apps. You can see the host system still takes over when required eg putting it in reverse, and you can switch between Android and not by holding the back button 3 sec. It is pretty responsive (fast) but you can see I had to press harder than expected a couple of times.  I still have the phone connected to the stock system, and that also seamlessly takes over Android music playing. v37-android-demo.mp4 The bigger reason that I put this in though is so that I can use Ecutek directly on the head unit. That gives me a dash with logging (up to 20MB only), high and low value warnings on any parameter etc etc. I've run a USB cable from the Ecutek OBD dongle to a USB input on the unit, easy. v37-ecutek-demo.mp4   The unit did freeze on the launcher the other day, I think Agami was trying to verify the license when it didn't have a data connection...will monitor and report back if there are any other problems but so far I'm very happy with the upgrade.
    • Nah that is just crappy GPS mapping, I did have a small excursion (cold tyres, damp track, surprise!), will post up that when I get a chance.
