i think we have all had this problem m8

the other thing that will do it as well if your actuator arm comes off the waste gate you wont get any boost at all :-)

i think its a big inspection job going through all you IC piping as mentioned before, and undoing then redoing the connections so you know they are done correctly

takes a while but it could save you forking out for a turbo you dont need :-) worse case is ur turbo, if there is no smoke it just means u have not burst ur oil seals in ur turbo :-) so might get away with a cheap refurb of ur turbo

Don't think it would be a manifold leak.

Mine leaks like a sieve when cold. it's makes a god awful screach when spooling, but it still doesn't miss a beat.

problem stops when it heats up.

You know u can take off the intake pipe to the turbo and look for broken fins, bulk oil, or loads of shaft play back and forth, up and down. Its not hard to inspect. But do that after u have checked the intercooler piping silicone hose joiners

could try take off the piping to the compressor side of your turbo and manually spin it. if it spins then start the engine (on idle)and see if the compressor wheel is spinning with the motor running. no spin= no exhaust wheel.

if spinning then could be intercooler piping.

well, turns out it was a bearing issue in the turbo... i pulled it out this morning and took it to a few workshops... shaft is a little bent but even still, not much play, but the bearing has gone for sure... so its time for a new turbo... cuz i have all the money in the world to spend!!

Anyways, i think the thing that has pissed me off the most about this issue, is no matter who i asked, NOBODY could tell me why it is so damn expensive to rebuild a turbo.... NOBODY!!

Other than that, thanks alot for your help guys, if anyone has a 33 series 2 turbo or a neo 6 turbo.. please let me know...

Oh and ryhs... id still beat you!! lol

Thats some real bad luck, keep your eyes peeled for a second hand turbo.. im sure something will pop up.. go searching the for-sale section. I've heard of good condition R33 turbos going for $350. Anything you buy though claiming to be good condition, make it condition of sale that it passes an inspection by a turbo-savvy mechanic, that is unless you're confident enough to check it out for yourself prior to purchasing.

Good luck!

got a s1 turbo going for 250bux if stuck, but i think there is plenty out there at the moment. when i got my hi flow rebuilt it cost 300 bux just for the compressor wheel, without fitting it. parts cost lots of money when the have to do eleven billionty rpm

    • The housing it self made minimum differences, while the exhaust manifold made a difference. 6 Boost T3 divided will do fine. ATR43SS3ProR model in T3 .82 rear (TS optional) from March 25th will be more then capable of 450whp with excellent response.
    • The boy crashed his Patrol a while ago, so he is now driving his mum's ASX and she is driving my Honda I initially said he could have the Honda to drive around (he's a good kid currently training at the police academy), but, his mum was quick in saying that he "will" take the ASX and she will take the Honda, he was a bit upset with that, he rates the manual Honda more than the automatic ASX (mums taxi), and I'm getting the feeling she enjoys thrashing the manual Honda around In other news, I'm looking at a MX5 NB series 2 on Saturday  I always loved my NB series 1, but after stripping it down because I'm a idiot it wasn't fun cruising or driving around daily, and Jackie refused to drive it, which was an issue if we went out, because her refusing to drive it meant I lost my designated driver if we went to a party, or dinner, or...... basically anywhere where I could get a glow on Yes yes, I may need a new job if I decide to buy https://www.seek.com.au/apprentice-hairdresser-jobs/in-All-Sydney-NSW Plus giving the Honda to the boy, which is my cunning plan, will give me enough wifey type credits to turn up in another car Meh
    • Yeah I've just been checking it out on GTR registry and its the emerald green pearl (DS0) and only 610 made for S1 RS-Four V (if i'm understanding correctly) so I feel obliged to restore the paint to as close to original as possible!
    • Thankyou, sir! Yeah I'm having a lot of fun rewiring bits of the car. I used to dislike wiring a lot before, I dont like it any more but it is getting easier
