I am guessing Col, as a moderator, deleted someone's earlier post, bumping himself to 27500

Morning Mangs.

Scarnon?

So, who's up for tavern night, and when?

Finished work yay. Days off yay. I'm in for the tavern night just not this weekend.

Morning all.... work's bullshit as usual.

Trying to sell my bloody 400r front bar & a 4inch autotechnica exhaust cannon if anyone's keen

Apologies in advance for the rants...

Rant 1:

F*CK customs! Finally got the bill back today, have to pay $157 for being $70 over the limit :). Meh, thats life, I was expecting to have to pay more. Payment options? Go to customs, or pay by credit card. Of course paying by credit card will incur additional surchages. So down to customs I go (it's at the airport so only 10 minutes from work anyway).

Me: I want to pay for this *hands over bill*

Them: Yeah no problem. Oh, you won't be able to take your parcel though.

Me: Why not?

Them: Well, we have to release it to australia post. Then they will deliver it to you.

Me: Deliver it to me? I'm right here.

Them: Yes, but we will release it to australia post, then they will deliver it to you in the mail.

Me: I'm right here. It's right here in this building somewhere. Surely it is cheaper and easier for everyone for you to just release it to me instead of australia post.

Them: I'm sorry sir, we can't do that.

Me: F*cks sake. Fine, let me pay...

*Pays customs*

Now I have to wait for aus post to f*cking deliver the shit. AND they will probably want to charge me for storage now since customs has taken so long to do the paperwork... May or may not get my shit by the weekend.

F*ckers

Rant 2:

Why the f*ck can't people walk and talk at the same time? Really, it's not that hard. F*cking groups of herpa derpas walking along blocking the whole corridor, and walking at a snails pace. FFS, I don't care if you want to talk, but walk at a reasonable f*cking speed.

*Disclaimer: This may only have annoyed me so much because I am already pissed off at customs...

Rant 1 is just retarded. Bureacracy at its finest. Rant 2, meh it kind of annoys me.

Had stupid amounts of drama this morning when the joinery guys didnt deliver the bench for the carpark attendant bay. The problem is the installer is a subcontractor of a subcontractor. So I have to chase up the first subbie. Turns out they haven't heard of it before. So then I have to go through the design team and contract admin people on our side. Mixed response with nobody really knowing what's going on. After all it's only a f**king benchtop. Turns out it was never included in anyones scope of works so now we have a 6 week wait. For a f**king benchtop. I won't be waiting 6 weeks though I'm finding someone else to do it lol.

Allo Mangs.

Also working Wednesday... also see Doc Martins post re: working everywednesday... :D

What a bastard of a week so far.... But, it will be over on Thrusday. Only 2 more days until I slide around in a WRX rally car :P

P.S. Wont be there on Thursday night......again. Have family arriving from Melb on Thursday.

    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
    • I don't get in here much anymore but I can help you with this.   The hole is a vent (air relief) for the brake proportioning valve, which is built into the master cylinder.    The bad news is that if brake fluid is leaking from that hole then it's getting past the proportioning valve seals.   The really bad news is that no spare parts are available for the proportioning valve either from Nissan or after market.     It's a bit of a PITA getting the proportioning valve out of the master cylinder body anyway but, fortunately, leaks from that area are rare in my experience. BTW, if those are copper (as such) brake lines you should get rid of them.    Bundy (steel) tube is a far better choice (and legal  in Australia - if that's where you are).
