5th is Dad's birthday sorry mang.

Morning fags,

Lasergetownedbybattlestargalacticanerds was a great success.

TFIF? Although work tomorrow...but that means BBQ :worship:

Morning all.

Only three days of holiday left, then three weeks of work before I get to head off to my new gig. Going to be three weeks of no fun and total lack of motivation :(

Morning all - how was fagertag?

My guitar sold to a guy in Perth...... so now the hectic postage battle begins!

Also starting off my half sleeve tomorrow, so excited!!

Farkin shit. Why would they hire me to have me sit here doing nothing. My team leader comes back on Monday so I think I'll be having words. I'm not commuting in a final solution style train trip every day to sit here bored out of my farkin mind.

Drive from Aspley (home) to Windsor (work). Epic traffic is epic. I get to work, and have to take some ecus and drive back out to Brendale. Fuuuu. Epic traffic is still epic. Fuuuuuu. Fuel light comes on. Fuuuuuu. Fuel light goes off. Poker face. Fuel light comes on and stays on. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

Made it back, but I don't know if the ute is going to make it up to the petrol station...

unlucky. Doing programme up for design drawings to be finalised. We programmed in to pour ground level pour 1 on the 5th of march. By my programme the drawings for that slab won't be complete until the 9th of March. Going to be some long days in the coming weeks.

Tentative moving date should be the 5th of March, mangs. Anyone who can come and help is welcome. The more people we have the faster it'll get done. We're going to start packing things this weekend, so it should be a simple case of carry heavy things, disassemble the TV unit to get it out the door and then just uteing/carrying/carting/trollying the stuff up to the new townhouse/unit thingy :)

If there're any changes to the date I'll let you know as soon as I can, but it's 99% confirmed

Normally could assist, but chances are that I will be busy with the kids

so the fun begins

i now know why when you own a skyline you are always poor. My list of things i need to get done ot my car is getting bigger by the day. Now need 4x new tyres as my wacked out wheel alignment has made the inside of my front tyres racing slicks. AND thatwas after nissan did the wheel alingment! Add that to the service, fix boot leak, replace clock spring in steering wheel so my stupid airbag light goes off, repaint interior dash console and replace steering wheel. When is a guy gonna have time to actually start moddifying the bleeding thing.

Nah just roll on stockos, you'll be right as long as you dont drive in the rain.

I thought yours was modified a bit? If your who I think you are, it had some sick inductionssss

shit has hit the fan here too. Although it's quiet at the moment, well im doing my mountain of product/technical reports. Fun times here too.

Was really hoping to get to the transport department today to do my learners test for my bike license

Was really hoping to get to the transport department today to do my learners test for my bike license

Is there written test for a motorbike learners permit still just an additional five questions? I was stupefied at how easy it was when I got mine back in '02.

still just 5 questions i have been told. Easy to get the learners, then i'll need to book for my Q-Ride and purchase a nice bike ;)

Q-Ride was a joke when I did mine. If they REALLY want to address the issues with the LARGE numbers (% wise) of fatalities on bikes then they need to address the rider training as well as driver education. They simply assume you have a basic set of road craft skills already (hazard detection, reading traffic, basic road rules etc) so all the training is about how to handle a bike (easy) and how to perform a lot of emergency procedures and safe low speed maneuvers (hard.)

The problem is that you have SO much more to worry about on a bike then you do in a car. The training doesn't really address any of that and for people like me I got my bike license before my car license so I was lacking the assumed skill set.

At least they teach you how to control skids, emergency braking and proper counter steering. Doubt any of the driving instructors out there teach any of that. Much more important to make sure that people in a car can perform a 3-point turn without turning the wheels while stationary then teaching them how to control a car if the back end kicks out due to oil/water/gravel... *facepalm*

Aussie driver/rider training is a joke. Better instruction, more of it, more relevant practical tests and make EVERYONE spend time in both a car and a bike, even if it's only one 2 hour session. Most people in tin tops don't realise what riders face.

QFT although when I did my Q Ride I thought my trainers were really good. They spent the majority of the day drilling into everyone hazard detection and where you should be placing yourself on the road to give yourself enough time to respond to hazards etc. Still I agree about the spending more time on/in a bike/car and more relevant practical tests.

My instructors were GREAT, but a single 8 hour session is NOT enough to get you ready for the road when on a bike. I'm not saying what they teach isn't great, compared to what a run of the mill driving instructor teaches they a light years in front, there really isn't enough of it :(

I'd still buy another bike if I could afford it - Skyline or sensible DD and a bike, no way I could afford my 34 AND a bike at the same time... Might need to hit my new bosses up for a raise sooner then I thought.

Might also need to loose a few kg's to get back into my leathers :P

Mine just has the exhaust and k&n so i dont know if i am who you are talking about. Are you at core pc opp the school?

I need to get two affidavits signed by a JP, do I have to write them in their presence or can I simply take them written and signed into a JP and get it done that way ?

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
