Suspension is sorted :) No more rubbing on the guards, not bottoming out on every bump on the road. Hooray!

12mm increase has made ALL the difference!

I need to go visit those dudes for an alignment some time soon as well, how much did the new bushes set you back?

All up it was $900ish. That included the new bushes, alignment, adjustable camber arm and getting them to raise the suspension slightly. I've got an itemised invoice in the car, will check it later and let you know the price for each bit.

Friendly guys, great service. Car feels completely different and is a lot more confidence inspiring now that I'm not constantly worried about it bottoming out and scraping the guards/front bar.

Sighhhhhh more shit to do on the car...

1. Headlight lenses smokey (its a 33 -_-)

2. Wiper blades need replacing

3. Small chip in windscreen

4. Bare wiring in engine bay (just need to hook them up to the sensors)

5. Clutch bite point too low

6. Front bump stops need replacing >_< this is the only annoying one.

Yeah heard about that on the radio. Messed up.

45 minutes to go!

That's what she said.

nice one, yeah they are good, and luckily are walking distance from my house!

Dealer finally came through and fixed the aircon today. Which is good. However I think i'm getting some kind of cold (unrelated to aircon), which is bad. Sigh.

Sigh... Another day at work. Less then 2 weeks to go until new job however, can't come soon enough.

Anyone besides me going to the SAUQld BBQ tomorrow?

None of us are cool enough to go.

Nah I'm not part of sauqld so I wouldn't even know it's on

Saw your post on faceparty. What was the damage?

Got done over at Indroopilly BP, the one just across the road from KFC, out the front of Myer.

Pulled into the petrol station, and as I pulled up noticed that there was an undercover car filling up as well. Started screaming in my head as I calmly started filling up.

Sure enough, within seconds, the chick cop that wasn't filling the car up wanders over, tape measure in hand already, and starts asking about the roll cage.

At this point I was still hopefull that she was merely trying to find out whether I was built proportion all round but I was bitterly dissapointed when she started measuring the height of the car.

She then asked me to pay for the fuel and pull the car up just up ahead, out of the way.

Listed:

car too low

wheels too wide

roll cage not plated

no rear seats

number plate not mounted properly

aftermarket steering wheel with no padded centre

She then said they were going to get in contact with another officer who knew the laws around modified cars a bit better, and also go check my licence...

At this point, not a happy camper, as I was informed that this would be a court appearance.

When she came back, said that I seemed like a nice guy, and if my driving record checked out, they would let me go if I agreed to have the car towed home, as she couldn't allow me to drive the car home in its current state. Farken hell yes. She said that I had to get the car mod plated for the cage and rear seats and to fit different wheels. She said she wasn't sure about the steering wheel, but recommended getting a rcw place to check it out.

Called RACQ, had the car towed home, and organising an engineer to come give me a mod plate for the cage and two seat conversion.

So, overall was a bit of a hassle waiting an hour for the tow truck, but way better than having to go to court and have the entire car inspected.

That's got to suck. I live near there and I am always extra cautious due to the number of cops you see around with three stations in a couple of blocks (well two and the police beat.)

At least she was nice enough not to f**k you up about it all.

    • Ok so after much research and talking with knowledgeable people I've got my turbo conversion done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.  Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd. But nothing drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic.  I'm sure there is may e 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Dose anyone here have any ideas?   Cheers guys
    • Sorry I haven't been following all the detail, so you may have tried this. Does it idle with the tiniest bit of throttle you can add? You've mentioned the IACV, does it have an AAC valve and have you adjusted it at all (ie, screw the idle adjust screw all the way in, then back it out a couple of turns until idle is stable)?
    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
