So you all wanta use the new shopping centre at carseldine to meet hey...?

Well I went down last night in the family mobile to go to Woolworths to so the weekly shoping and the Police had the car park blocked off...

Apparently the business owners DONT want car meets in their carpark, there were about 150 cars being polity told to "bugger off"...

Defect noticed given out left right and center... I asked at the checkout in Woolies in a friendly conversation starting manner as I had the the assistant manner as my checkout chick... She said that last Thursday night there were over 100 cars and they left skids in the underground carpark... The center managers had complaints from customers and from store owners, so they see a bunch of cars pull up and stand around talking and they automatically call the police now...

Good luck using the location... I think Nandos and Pizza Capers might be over ruled by Woolies some how...

Morning Mangs!

TFIT!

i was super surprised i didnt get kicked off, seems they dont care much about noise at all for this happy laps deal

They only care if old mate across the lake is going to complain. The fact that most cars are not going flat out for happy laps probably helps keep the overall noise level down

Sounds about standard Col. That Carseldine meet was too big to last really. They always attract the idiots and idiots in large groups often end up in skids >_<

In other news. Car is making a funny whirring sound. Sounds like it's coming from the front passenger side. I'm thinking it's either a wheel bearing or the brakes grabbing a little.

There were two tow trucks taking cars last night when we were leaving... un-registered or hooning law or something like that...

gotta remember Aspley police station is 400 metres away and there are 2 good coffee shops in that centre, so it wont take them long to respond...

Don't get me wrong, i love a good skid... But in the right place, safety first...

Take it to a burnout comp, willowbank drags or skidpan etc etc...

However I hate nothing more than a clapped out VN with a hole in the exhaust doing a one wheeler... :P

I like it like this... (go to 12 second mark and watch)

That sucks. Went to a JDM meet there a few weeks back and there would have to have been close to 300 cars. Filled the underground carpark and all the spots up top. What a shame the idiots of society have stuffed it for the rest. Take a bow douche bags.

I missed this post. Weren't some of the northside guys planning to use that spot (or somewhere nearby) for a meet tonight?

This is why our baskin's meet is awesome. The onyl times cops harrassed us they were chicks, and all they wanted was our phone numbers

Big End.

Dude, you should see the carpark down stairs...

Looks like the surface of the skidpan after another year of summernats...

It does look like they have attempted to clean it up, but what ever they used has done more damage...

Id assume acid, its eaten the concrete surface away... Its all taped off at the moment...

Cool. Wrong thread though... I'll give them the heads up in the other one.

Hummmm by the other one do you mean what i think you mean, cause if that's the case I retract my statement... :whistling:

Smaller cruising groups are the go, like the icecream mets...

If you go large format you have to do it by day, cause old people get scared of large groups of young people... :P

f**king rage!

Had organised a rental ute to move all my stuff today. Rental company apparently has issues and ute is no longer available. No one is able to rent me one thanks to super long weekend. Very unhappy right now.

dude, Noel has a 4B (although it is petrol and auto so kinda gay) and a trailer - if there is one man that has the ability to help you, it is this man. Money, coffee and surprise bumsecks is definitely something that will encourage him. Ring me if you need his number

I've got his number, but I might have something else sorted. Turns out work has a large van used for deliveries, it's just not kept at work. I have to make a delivery run this arvo, might just keep it a little longer ;)

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
