Inner West Crew Whoretown (toowong/st Lucia/kenmore/indooroopilly And Sometimes Sunnybank?)

Yeah man. The water was up to the roof of the baskins under cover car park. Think how high it had to be in his street for that... there's another video that shows his street. It's up to the 60 sign opposite his place :(

If anyone needs a hand clearing out a house I can give a hand all day tomorrow. Spent all day cleaning out some randoms house in Fig Tree Pocket, will go back their tomorrow if no one here needs a hand.

we spent the day washing out the basement at work, although flood water didn't actually go in there just the fact it was empty was a good enough reason to wash the thing out, 4 years or build up was pretty foul

I too can give a hand (and a ute if needed) to anyone that needs it tomorrow... Let me know

If no one else needs my help, going to rock up to the boondall volunteer point tomorrow for the arvo shift:

(Assuming I can get all the necessary gear from the shops in the morning...)

Anyone else keen?

anybody free to give me a hand to fit a cage in tomorrow?

got all the interior bits out, just can't figure out what to do about the sunroof.....

Sorry Miso I'm busy doing my turbo swap

Got the 33 one off finally tonight. Started last night for an hour or so, then probably about 3-4 hours today on and off between running to shops, bunnings, the girlfriend's place, yatta yatta yatta. No real issues, just needed to get a 24mm socket and then some gasket goo later this arvo before repco closed.

Both dump and turbo manifold gasket are sweet, near new. I had an inkling that my turbo was not the original one (no heatshield, and looks in generally worse condition than the rest of my motor) so this helped confirm that. Also the 6 dump bolts were easy, and the 4 manifold nuts were barely tighter than finger-tight after moving the lock tabs out of the way. Banjo bolts were a pain and I've lost all the coolant out of the block but oh well, I've got another 2 bottles in the garage.

Now have the 34 one lined up, oil return in and dump bolted up for now. Might give the rest a go later tonight if I can be bothered, otherwise tomorrow.

Pretty happy, first time I've removed a turbo and it mostly went to plan. Hardest part was having to get under the car to undo the bottom bolts on the dump, not much room in there lol

Sounds good mang

All good, it's a bit late notice.

I will figure it out tomorrow. Started late in the arvo today, and took a while to remove all the interior, belts, lining, seats etc.

Hopefully the weather holds tomorrow, as I have to do it all in the front yard. No room in the garage

Can I has a coptor ride too?

Afraid not, cant even get my wife in on the deal...

Need a medical clearance, training and special permission to ride in a gov heli...

Alternatively get stuck in a tree and they might give you a free ride to higher ground...

Need a medical clearance

Fit as a fiddle

training

I trained with the air force (cadets...)

and special permission to ride in a gov heli...

I can get my mum to write me a note...

Deal.

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
