For sale: '91 R32 GTR Gearbox. It's a pull type, but seeing that I've ordered a new push gearbox, and i'll need the front plate from my current box, this will be sold as a pull (I think)

Price and price conditions: $500 pick up melb

Pictures: in the car now, can be seen running

Contact Details: post here or PM

Location: Will be avail in Melbourne, inner north

Delivery & Conditions of Delivery: pick up only

The gearbox is currently in the car. I initially thought it was leaking, but it's actually the transfer case. The gearbox is from a log booked Aussie GTR, with 115K on the clock.

Things to note are:

1. the output bearing is a bit noisy, but still fine

2. the 5th gear syncro is lazy when cold, but fine when warm. With Redline shockproof the syncro is fine, but I recently changed to Castrol and it's a bit recalcitrant with Castrol. Recommend that you use Redline.

The gearbox will be avail in a few weeks, but I've posted now so that if you are genuine, and want to see how it runs, you can.

thanks

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
