hey guys im on the gold coast and drive a silver 4 door r34gtt. I'm always drivin in n out of surfers as i work there... Shame there isnt more GC skyline ppl on here as i see sh*tloads on the roads every day!

hey mate,

look out for me in the southport, arundal and even surfers area.

i must say we got a fair few keen on this cruise set on the 7th june so make sure if u got no other plans to come on this and u will meet a fair few gold coasters and even brissy people. so hope to see ya then mate.

around 17 cars so far on the cruise on 7th of june, lets see heaps of skylines out. anyone else keen just say so in the events section under "eoi for a cruise" and i ll add your name in on the list.

Spotted a Black R33 113 KLB driving past my house on Queen street in Southport today. :)

wasnt me but hey i live just off queen street too lol (more down the western way before the industrial area). wat do u drive? is it the green R33 with unpainted kit on it? i see that a few times

That would be me.....But I wasnt down that way today.... was up around Springwood and Mount Gravatt pretty much all day. :blink:

Yeah i want to come on the cruise, sounds good, but I got to much to do this weekend. If i get some spare time I got a hicas lock bar and subframe pineapples to install. woot

We'll have to do a run up Tambo one day/night sometime soon :D hehe

hey all, im fairly new to this site, got a 4 door R33 couple weeks ago now and wondering if many of you guys on the gold coast go out much, i see alot of brisbane people but i really couldnt be bothered and using fuel to get up that way. just wondering whos on the gold coast and if anyone would wanna go on a cruise and meet and greet sorta thing. yeah we have a workshop down in southport, 2/78 davenport street called M&S Auto Repairs. we do a fair bit or work on imports and any other sorta cars. servicing, tune ups, clutches, brakes, engine work, auto to manual conversions and any ohter sorta mechanical needs. we are willing to help out members to this site so feel free to call us on 5531001 for quotes. we also do roadworthy certificates.

dont spose you guys do front end susspension and bushes and stuff of that sorts.

gota fix what the insurance repairer calles "fixed".

other than that she is a series 1 r33 gtst with fruit punched nearly 380 hp at back wheels

    • If you take the top half of the intake off you can unbolt the flap off the shaft and leave the shaft in there blocking the hole. Then you can remove the little vacuum canister off from under the manifold and get a spare vacuum line to run to the ECU. I can take some photos of it later. Probably best to get the vacuum source to the ECU sorted first though. Mine all worked mint with the base map from the GTT an I've pretty much let the closed loop sort the fueling and took 1 degree out of the whole timing map.
    • This IS something you also have to configure in Haltech (or at least I did in the past when going from onboard-to-ECU map sensor and an external MAP sensor in haltech land).
    • I'm hoping it's something as simple as the ECU is looking for an external MAP sensor, but he is trying to use the onboard MAP sensor.
    • You won't need to do that if your happy to learn to tune it yourself. You 100% do not need to do that. It is not part of the learning process. It's not like driving on track and 'finding the limit by stepping over the limit'. You should not ever accidently blow up an engine and you should have setup the ECU's engine protection to save you from yourself while you are learning anyway. Plenty of us have tuned their own cars, myself included. We still come here for advice/guidance/new ideas etc.  What have you been doing so far to learn how to tune?
    • Put the ECU's MAP line in your mouth. Blow as hard as you can. You should be able to see about 10 kPa, maybe 15 kPa positive pressure. Suck on it. You should be able to generate a decent vacuum to about the same level also. Note that this is only ~2 psi either way. If the MAP is reading -5 psi all the time, ignition on, engine running or not, driving around or not, then it is severely f**ked. Also, you SHOULD NOT BE DRIVING IT WITHOUT A LOAD REFERENCE. You will break the engine. Badly.
