^_^ sorry was on a mates laptop and it started to get too me,

Im doing the 26/30 to my GTR and I have been told the twin turbo manafolds use a diffrent patten to the RB30 block.... I was wondering what other ppl have done to get around this?

I take it you just need to re stud the turbos for a longer bolt??

Also what about clarence in the engine bay? is there anything I need to move or watch out for?

My bottomend gave up on me and im am really wanting to do this conversion.

was thinking about S2 Block from a R31.

I would like to try and get the block to rev to around the same as the GTR 26 block but not too sure on what is needed to be done....

The engine from the R31 runs as it is now so eveything should be in somewhat of a working order.

so yer any help would be very cool :)

also I'm aiming at 400ish hp would like to get 450 if possable as thats a nice round figure.

If you're using a 26 head then your manifold bolt pattern hasn't changed..

It may be similar to the 25 head where I had to cut off a little bit of the bottom of the manifold as it clashes with the block.. is this what you were talking about?

are we talking stock block or rebuilt with the good stuff?

i dont think a stock rb30 will rev like a 26

even when built people seem to take then to 7500-8000rpm

you also need an adapter plate to get the awd working

The exhaust manifolds bolt to the head mate, not the block, you are using an RB26 head so there is no change.

That what I thought but cheers.

Also im trying to decide as to what I will need for 450 or so HP do I need to put the good stuff in or will he stock block handle it??

I have seen ppl EG. RIPS do some nice HP figures on just the stock bottom end so they seem to handle a little bit of power

That what I thought but cheers.

the RIPS gear does use stock parts. however, they do not just take a stock block and slap a head on it, there is lots of prep to the bottom end to get it to do what they want.

I have read both threads but it's a little hard to try and sort through would be better if we could combine all the answers into a page or something.

Anyway I now have the answers I was looking for cheers guys sorry if I wasted some time but I really needed to know 100%

Also to titan cool didnt know that... But I guess they have to protect there research lol

stock gtr dump pipes wont clear the 30 block as there is a big overhang section on the top section of the block that Bubba also mentions. I have done the 30 into a 4wd car (stagea) and just used a 2wd sump for the time being and pulled the cv joins out of the front axles so i could bolt them back into the wheel hubs to hold the wheel bearings together. The dumps do need to be lengthened and not just 38mm added as they need to be spaced 38mm down but the dump flanges are on a 45 degree angle so u really need to make some new dumps. All the stock water and oil lines can be bent to fit on and the oil drains need to be remade and plumbed into the single oil drain on the 30 block. bonnet clearance is also an issue in a gtr from what ive read too. I also used a set of rb25 headbolts and that means u dont have to tap the 30 block headbolt holes bigger.

Most of the stuff is easy and cheap if your willing to get stuck in and also have abit of mechanical knowledge but if your paying a workshop it might be rather pricey.

Rather than starting a whole new thread why don't you just post your questions in the conversion sticky thread?

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
