at current conversion rates thats about $3700 a month, or $900 a week cash. most tuners will charge ~$150 an HOUR to tune.... i dont think your gonna find a tuner, let alone one specialising in motec thats gonna pack up and leave everything in this country for $900 a week.

however, i think that guy from Chasers, (Scott mighta been his name?) has gone over that way before to tune cars, i dont know if he'd make it permanent but its a starting point i suppose?

ya but there are no tax there and everything is cheap and he's not gonna pay on the appartment and maby there are bounses

there was a garage came from australia and opened in dubai the garage name was sub zero and there salery is the same or maby less

then what salery would u want us to put ??????????

look i said this is the salry but there are bounses and in every company and every were the salery is not much put the bounses which push the salery up

the guy will get a salery + an appartement + a car

its only for programing a motec

the salery will increase year after year

what could i do more

this is the deal u want to work ur welcome u dont then plz write something good

btw when i say there are no tax on salery i mean there are no tax in the whole country

the only country in the world which there are no tax

everything is cheap compare to here

for example a second hand ferrari 360 2001 is for 80,000 dollers

bmw X5 v8 full option with sports kit 0km is about 100,000 dollers

resturants are cheap , hotels , everything is cheap it means 10,000 dirhams is good for living in UAE

i'm aware of tax situation, and how cheap cars are. dont take what i say as a personal attack, i just think maybe your looking in the wrong place for a tuner.... is there really no tuners over there? why not find someone who can learn how to tune? or find someone over there, bring them over here for a bit to learn how to tune?

I think its more than reasonable salary.

A tuner here has to pay for the maintenance of a dyno, rent of the workshop and if they have anyone else working for them then the salary of their staff. This is probably why some workshops charge a lot to have your car tuned as they factor these costs into the price.

I think you will find that most WORKSHOPS will charge $150 per hour.

I hope you find someone for the job, it would be a good experience!

yeah obviously i wasnt allowing for all the outgoings of having a dyno/shop, but i still think after all the outgoings, you'd end up with more than 900 a week in your pocket (depending on the flow of work).

R31nismoid, re: salary, it isnt too bad, could be better, but how much would it have to be for you to pack up and leave everything behind to go work over there?

PS: i may be a little biased, coz i've heard some seedy shit about dubai

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
