Ok so i have 2 ways, 1 go manual and use a standalone, 2 install a shift kit and use standalone, i want to know the costs of those 2.. though the 2 requires a rebuilt in the transmition.. Ok i will search for these..

Thank you all!!

You are very quick and full of informations!

manual conversion then you have to change your wiring. plugs to the ecu wont suit a powerfc or any other standalone. from what i know anyways

Hi all,

I was searching the forum but found nothing that clears what standalone can be used as plug and play to a R34 GT-t with triptronic, can you please help me.. I want to select the right standalone..

Thank you

Akis.

best bet is to remap the std ecu, we do dozens and im sure someone could help you out.

Speak to Satanic on here.... Pm him ..... he has a close to 400 rwkw AUTO R34 ...... it runs an F-con pro (i think) ...anyway, it knows when the auto is about to shift and softens up the power to make smoother shifts etc .... best to speak to him, but it works very well.... and you can't dispute close to 400 rwkw !

Bit of an old thread but....

Haltech and ViPec then work on an auto R34 GT-T? I'm looking at getting a new ECU, tune whatever and wanna keep my auto box. I don't wanna f*ck around with a manual gearbox conversion (not to mention I'll be paying ~$2000 to put R33 parts into my R34), I may aswell sell up and buy something thats manual (from my POV).

However if I build up the Auto box then I can run whatever the hell I want? Apexi, Motec, etc. Whats required in building up the auto and how much will that set me back?

So I believe my options are...

1) Haltech, ViPec, Nistune or E-manage.

2) Build the box up and run whatever ECU I like.

Is this correct? I've done so much searching on the subject my head is spinning!

As covered before, the Haltch and Vipec WON'T run the Auto box, the auto logic is inside the stock ECU. HOWEVER everyone that is saying it will work has probably seen it work on an R33 or similar where the auto logic is controlled externally to the factory ECU, so you can stick a standalone in those cars...NOT the R34 GTT (even the tiptronic R34 25GT will work with standalone, it had to be different)

Nistune is the most simple and effect option, the remaps really are good. I've got a different type of board, but I can play with ever facet of the tune adn retain the factory ECU and shift logic.

    • That still isn't a lot to go on. I don't have a Y50 Fuga Head Unit wiring diagram. I can say that a lot of nissans of that age shared head unit plugs, so if you are in Australia something like this would probably help: https://aerpro.com/app091# You plug that into the car loom, then either plug the head unit ISO into that (if it has ISO), or you buy and ISO adapter harness that you wire in. Bit of stuffing around, but once you have ISO its easy to change things in future.
    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
