are you taking the piss Cara or you are seriously thinking of putting a 800 hp super charger on your car?

ive seen you drive NA and i can asure you with anything over 300 hp you will become a statistic.

please be careful.

hey darren,

no im not taking the piss.

and i will not becoming a statistic.....do you honestly think ill be driving the 34 as a daily with a 800hp supercharger hangin off the side? dude, i aint the frikin stupid. i have a plan in place and i will be sticking with it and that includes doing advance driving etc,, when tho the car will be mainly show/dyno queen and every now and then going down the track. everythins is being looked at to make sure the car is done properly before she goes on the track or road. im doing this properly. no shortcuts, yes it will be expensive, but in the end it will be worth it,

Cara, have you thought about going a bit more custom and running dual stage injectors?

It'd make low rev driving better/more responsive.

yeah i could ruby, lol but this whole thing is headache already and i dont wanna make it even more a headache lol

i just spoke to my guru, John Keen, and he said i can go 850cc without any dramas, he was running 850cc in Jakes VL and that was doing 650 rwkw and still had plenty left in them before they maxed out.

what fuel setup are you planning Cara? External pump/surge tank/ braided lines?

most likey damo

im guessing your engine is getting a full forged build not just bolting this stuff on....

and if u only 'upgraded' to gt-t brakes and kings springs i think money can be spent elsewhere...

ive already upgraded to that lol

and yes my engine will be getting a full rebuild and will be having a RB26 crank/pistons/conrods combo which will mean she will be stroked to 2.7L.

ill be going with ISC coilovers for my suspension, but there is alot of other nitty gritty things that i will be needing to speak to John Keen about when the car goes in for her service and tune next month, im hoping i can then finalise everything i need on my list and then get bit by bit.

what happened to the 2.8 litre stroker idea? that would've been the way to go

not at $10,000 just for the kit its not a good idea lol

i think stroking to 2.7 L is gonna be enough and i can do it for less, a new RB26 crank is about $1100

i don't know but i have seen n/a cars that go! e.g. k20 in a eg and the dude pulled 12.8 on the quarter. in america there are single cam 4 banger n/a ripping up 9's! so go figure

drag racing (and driving around in circles) is what americans do, its no wonder they can get n/a cars to put down good numbers. theyve also had more money invested into them than most people will spend on a house.

if you wanna see a wierd n/a haul some ass hpi dvd 4 has a 260z with a L6 (original motor) with a bottle of nos and some other stuff no doubt,

and then go's on to drop a 8sec quarter, had to rewatch it about 10times before i believed that the orignal motor could pull that sh*t

    • Hi guys, long time no post as per usual! It's been a busy year so far, the biggest thing being a new job.  After 28 years in the automotive industry I decided it was time for a change.  I was losing faith in the industry and where it's heading.  Now in a completely different industry (electrical) working for a company that manufacture water pump contollers.  Not as sexy as cars but it's an interesting,  challenging industry. I now don't work Saturdays which is a bonus!  It's still 50-55 hours a week but having Saturdays ack after 28 years of working them is awesome!   No news on the GT-R but i did decide to add some more JDM goodness into my life....           1990 300 ZX.  She's not perfect but for a 35 year old car she ain't bad!  Just going to tidy it up a bit and enjoy it.  It's currently auto but will start stockpiling everything for a manual swap. It WILL distract me even further from the GT-R but im hoping not for too long! It somewhat proves a 6'8" freak can fit in a 300 ZX.  Sort of...  I drove it home from the previous owners house in Melbourne via Black Spur and Merton Gap (2 awesome bits of Victorian twisty road) and it was amazing!  Handles so well!!!   I don't think it would be worthy of a full build page but I'll post up some of the upgrades here if anyone is interested?  Cheers guys!
    • End game is to: - Remove all the slop from old worn parts - Adjust setup so that the wheels actually fit and the car is drivable (currently it is not because of the extreme rubbing on the guards).   Progress over the last couple of days, removed the rear hubs! Next steps: - Buy bushings - Replace bushings/bearings on hub - Reinstall
    • Cracked deck  And other cam snap stuff
    • A few random issues have popped up since my last update. My WMI pressure sensor failed within about 10 minutes of it seeing liquid. It was a 20$ China special, so I'm not surprised. My name brand replacement should arrive today.  My power steering assist also decided to crap out last weekend. The usual, works for about 60 seconds after starting the car then I lose it. I dusted off my old copy of NDS and connected to the HICAS ECU. Code 4 for assist solenoid.... I tested the solenoid and it's fine.  I knew the day where my HICAS ecu would crap out would come, and I welcome it. It was the last HICAS part on the car that is now in the bin. I've ordered an SSR and I will control the power steering solenoid with my Haltech ecu. It will be nice to have proper speed referenced assist again after all these years.
