hrm HID is nice and pretty but if it's not going to last longer than halogen then i guess i'd just pass it... say if the ballast blows because of the hi/lo beam switch reason then the replacement cost is pretty high...

plus i'd have to adjust my headlights lower so it won't glare oncoming traffic... but that reduces visibility

theres a fix for the hi/low beam switch problem your talking about for 33's atleast (and i dare say for 32's aswell).

I've rewired my headlights so that the low beams dont actually turn off when i go to highbeam, so on high beam all 4 lamps are lit.

So while the high beams might suffer from a slightly higher failure rate due to flicking on off, the low beams should avoid the issue.

the howto for this mod is somewhere in the diy section, cant recall the link but do a search for "dual headlight" and it should come up.

As far as colour goes, i purchased mine of nyt and after speaking to him i went with 6000k and 8000k, which is "damn white" and "damn white with a touch of blue", both from the "goddamn bright" collection. From what i've been told the light penetration actually drops after about 8000k, so it goes bluer but dimmer if you will (if you like the colours nyt also sells 12000k, which is purple). Given the problems you might face with legalities of HID's i'd go 8000k max as any higher will not only stand out due to brightness, but also due to it being a funky colour.

this HID kit your enquiring about is actually pretty good..

its made in china & generic... but its pretty reliable for what it is..

thats the one i fit on the Yaris

hey guys thx for the tip,

I wanna get two different colours to make it look like white and purple.

so i should get the kits that's 6000k and a 10,000k?

Plus the link i just put up only stock 6000k.

Anyone know a good china made band for more bluer colour?

Thank you

SLinky-A :):thumbsup::)

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
