Hi fellas,

So I purchased a "Carboniferous bonnet" for my R33. :/

I now need some flush bonnet pins to put my soul at ease when I'm doing high speeds on the freeway...I have heard that the above brand makes good ones at affordable prices...can someone please comment or recommend other brands and places where I can get them - a rough price would also be good.

$110 for the ones on my old 180, also purchased from revo racegear :)

Work a treat!

Thanks mate... do they grip decently and are easy to install? Cheers mate...

Does anyone else have this on a R33?

They work a treat! Definately worth the piece of mind.

The only hard part would be lining up the pin with the latch on the bonnet. If you were gonna install them yourself, make sure it's 100% before you start cutting at your bonnet. Otherwise, any reputable panel shop can line, cut and install them for you

Awesome, I just put through an order with JJ the owner - he's really helpful.

Thanks mate...I'll definitely be getting a professional panel shop to install this for me.

Cheers,

Kevin

Bought a pair of AeroCatch's out of the UK about a year ago without the locks for $80 including postage (i remember they retailed for 30 pounds), i'd say they'd be a bit cheaper now. The ones with the locks were $110 back then.

Great design, awesome customisability (you can mount the pin in 3 different directions, so it doesn't necessarily have to go into the radiator mount (although this is the easiest and most aesthetically pleasing way on the skylines)... the template that comes with it is a great help too when installing.

There's only one brand, AeroCatch... I haven't really come across any knockoffs or china brand copies yet, although at the prices shipped out of the UK I cbf'd with a copy. Fucked if I can remember who the retailer in the UK was though.

Bought the Aerocatch bonnet pins from Revolution Racegear (lockable version) for $110. Got my panel beater to install them as the car was there getting the front resprayed, track days had the whole front sandblasted, including windscreen...

They are much better than the old traditional bonnet pin style, you can hardly tell they are there.

Ideal for a street car, less noticeable....

plus the metal bonnet pins with the ring pull, the common type, are FUGLY, flush ones like these are fuxxing porn though :)

    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
    • Not to mention they drive like a bucket of bolts! yuck!
