and as some of u may have guessed it was pretty much a one sided battle :P

GO GIRL!

Josies best ET was 14.22 @ 101.10mph 60ft = 2.366

My best ET was 14.569 @ 97.63mph 60ft = 2.313

however

Soarers best ET was 13.879 @ 101.10mph (Driver inark)

NOTANRs best ET was 14.089 @ 93.16mph (Driver Dr_Drift)

As you can see i was getting a high mph but low ET... mainly cause i couldn't launch the damn thing with that racing clutch which was a shame...

We lined up twice and here are the results:

Josie 60ft = 3.121 ET = 15.296 @ 100.12mph

Me 60ft = 2.322 ET = 14.591 @ 97.76mph

Josie 60ft = 2.729 ET = 14.78 @ 100.81mph

Me 60ft = 2.782 ET = 15.038 @ 96.85mph

Highest MPH:

Josie = 102.2mph

Me = 98.41mph

Soarer = 102.22mph

NOTANR = 98.41

i still think the soarer could go faster, Josie was racing with TRC on, transmission in normal mode and OD which didnt help. The second time i drove with everything set how it should i lost traction all the way up the 60ft mark and had to back right off (stalled it too high off the line).... i reckon if we kept going we could have got it into the mid 13s.

I ended up giving control of my car to the good doctor as i was struggling to get it off the line not getting traction til after 3rd gear and all those times were done on low boost (10psi)... when i upped the boost to try and get into the 13s something broke... and it blew a lovely big cloud of black smoke as sam was driving it at about the 3/4 mark. More woes for my car.

Congratulations to my gf who didnt even want to go and was brought to tears at the thought of having to do it... once she got there and got on the track she was like a demon!! nice one and good on u for giving it a go... just wish i could have seen the reactions from ppl when they read ur name out and realised it was a girl driving it :D

hey i beat her in one race!! and the ET from that was faster than the one when she beat me... wasnt a total owning like u all thought it would be... :P on low boost.

and i dont know what broke on my car... going to have to take it to BMT and find out i guess... seems to happen when on full boost it just missfires and chugs... any other time its fine.

yeah thats the prob... after about 12runs we finally upped the boost and something went bad lol was running a bit hot i think cause when i went to put the boost up the heat from the turbo burnt my arm... and my arm was about 3 or 4 inches away from the turbo lol

even josie did 9 and i did 2 in her car... and we also just sat down the back with the bonnet up for up to 15mins a time talking... could have got more runs in if we liked and we left early

i thought you meant you upped it from inside the cabin and could feel heat from there. I was thinking that was one hot turbo but ahhh umm nevermind :P

lol ak... no just a simple bleed valve which took me 10 goes to change... helps if u turn it in the right direction... everytime i changed it i turned the damn thing down... funny thing was i ran a faster time with it less than 10psi lol

couple of funny pics....

i originally wasnt allowed to race as i didnt have the thing that holds the battery down on and it wasnt in the car so i had to bodge it up :P

west also came along in his R33 GTST and ran a 13.6 from memory... he got a bit of a sore hand changing gears... wonder why??

so well BEATEN BY A GIRL.. how does it feel?

and i dunno whether she reads in here - but GREAT WORK JOSIE!! Thats pretty good times for a fairly stock soarer. You did great.

:)

Sounds like it was a quiet night at Calder.. good you got heaps of runs in. The 2 times i've been i've been lucky to get like 3 runs.

still no news on my car :cry: "end of this week definitely"... bullshit..

    • Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler?  Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?
    • I haven't knocked them down yet. I think I made the repair more complex than it should have been. I had rock chips combined with waviness and dents and I tackled it all in one because it was near each other and just end up wasting a bunch of bog lol. I'll knock down those areas and see how I go. And yep what you are saying at the end is correct. I think I might be sanding the top of a steep hill then my sanding block falls into the dent and gets rid of the guidecoat if that makes sense. Though shouldnt unless I'm covering too big of an area with not a long enough block. I'll try something new and provide some updates. Getting there though! Thanks as always.
    • Yeah makes sense, hard to comment on your situation without seeing what your doing. I was talking generally before, I would not be looking to randomly create low spots with a hammer to then have to fill them.  It's hard without seeing what your doing, it sounds like you are using the guide coat to identify low spots, as you're saying the panel is still wavy. I don't see how you're not ending up with patches of guide coat remaining in a wavy panel? Once the high spots are knocked down to the correct level, surely to have a wavy panel you need low spots. And those low spots would have guide coat still in them?
    • So I'll put filler past the repair area a bit to make sure I don't miss anything. Then I'll block it until it's almost level, put the guidecoat, then keep blocking until it's gone. Then it's still wavy.  In regards to hitting the panel, I saw this video might give more context - Skip to 0:47 he knocks it down. But yeah I'm sanding until the guidecoat is gone then checking because otherwise my filler is still well above the bodyline. Unless what you're saying is I should put guidecoat around it early, surrounding the filler then stip once it's gone?
    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
