I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you're into it and that's specifically what you want to play. It takes mountains of time and obviously a correct technique, but it is doable. I can't get into the whole speed guitar thing anymore, lost interest and speed many years ago.

i learnt on a 35 year old masaru kohno japanese/spanish acoustic....

picking was a no no

fingerpicking = uber

i ended up playing my electrics like the spanish, without a pick. my fingers paid the price... i can simultaneously play bass and lead on a single guitar but double picking and hammeron hammer off is still beyond me

Never too late to learn Ben. Flat (modern guitar) fretboard + low action = easy speed.

Maybe u can give me some tips steve. where are ya ? pm me ya details

i have an 86 fender telecaster heavy metal edition. only problem is the floating trem is cactus so imma replace it with an EVH transtrem. i never learnt how to use a tremolo bar, so probably the fixed bridge gibson would be best for me but i'd like yr opinion.

i got an EH Big Muff Pi, sovtek version, (late sovtek so its pretty much accurate), a marshall JMP 1 preamp and a fender frontman 212R

and i got a c-port DSP24 with 8 channel real time multichannel recording @ 24 bit /192 khz

wtf. this has got to be one of the most filthy disgusting tunes. I f'n love it. played it 23 times loud.

Cant wait to mix it

dubstep is cool!

as a dubstep producer you could probably adapt so many different styles of sounds - techno, prog, and real grimey stuff like that above^

i reckon its a pretty big movement of a genre and will always have a good following - like drum & bass. Rather than like some genres that die in the arse i.e breaks...

Unless, it becomes commercialised and overdone like breaks did, then things can head downhill!

on another note; Anyone heading to BDO 2010???

'sold out' already. Hard to believe. I think its the usual promoter stunt so people to throw themselves at a second round release of tickets

I'm pretty keen to go, but not a ticket holder yet...

VERY keen to watch a set from this guy.

Sasha hasn't played in Adelaide for YEARS! He's playing all BDO's. Although I'd just hope they give him the closing set, and for at least 2hours - pretty pointless giving a progressive DJ (and the world's biggest) anything less!

Yeah I just missed out on the last bdo tickets. one of my mates got one of the last few tickets. Went real quick

I like listening to some real heavy metal music too. Love the drumming etc.

Luciano. you get that name from the producer ?

^ who, this dude: http://www.discogs.com/artist/Luciano -great techno/minimal DJ he is. Havent heard much of his production work

but nah, thats actually my real name on the birth certificate... named after my grandfather! i just go by Luke Luciano <insertsurnamehere> for ID's, accounts etc

  • 2 weeks later...

Pretty awesome Vinnie! thats one very technologically advanced piece of kit. i love the whole concept of digital - cdjs, serato, final skratch, midi controllers etc.

But, some of the features - who the hell is gonna use them in a live set! I think a lot of its there for the wow factor.

yee they look pretty good bit outta my price range...lookin at getting 2x cdj1000 mk3's and a djm800 if i can get the cash if not looks like i'll be getting cdj400's and a djm 400

haha Damo, this shit aint cheap hey. i actually expected them to be over 2.5k each.

1000's are still pretty pricey, unless you find some second hand for a good deal. But seeing as every trainspotting clubber wants to get their hands on a pair, good deals disappear quickly/are hard to find.

I'd personally go for the 400s brand new. Good unit.

Each to their own though! f**k digital >_<

im pretty sure craig (PREISS) had/has his DJM400 up for sale too Vinnie

    • For race cars, this is one part where I find having the roll cage bar having gone through a hole in the floor better than the build it up on a ledge inside... The Merc I help on, the main hoop ends are marked on the car, and the jack is marked... Jack goes under a few inches and lifts one whole side of the car up... Removes that fight for long slim jacks for race car duties!   My biggest issue for the daily drivers I work on, is my jacks don't go high enough. The jacks start out on a few blocks, jack it up, then start a second jack under it on more blocks, and then I can get an axle stand under it. My axle stands are presently in use, and are nearly fully extended. The car is sitting with barely more than a cm of clearance to get the wheel off the studs! Sarah's Kluger is the same, as it has an ungodly amount of droop available in the suspension and a distinct lack of good jacking points!
    • Happy? Yep, my to do list is getting shorter and shorter. Either this light approaching is the end of the tunnel, or I'm about to be hit by a train... Ha ha ha   Also, Duncan isn't that far out of town that you need to make a multi day drive out of it. 😛
    • Sorry I meant that we are building the EH for a client.
    • LOL, when one "money pit" is never enough Noice, and excellent work mate
    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
