that'll be a big show, the HQ regulars will love it

Wolfgang Gartner is a bloody good producer, used to produce funky deep house under his real name 'Joey Youngman' and many other aliases - White Collar Criminals, Frequent Fliers, etc - i've got a few of his vinyls

he admits he took the electro house turn for fame/touring/and finance that come with it - but good on him, he's such a good producer, if there's anyone that could just drop one genre and start another, it's him.

one of my fave Wolfgang G trax; called 'Circles' , from the Shapes EP on OM Records - there used to be a Youtube clip of it up, but i couldn't find it to share

just for demo, heres a tune he made under one of his many other Aliases - Mario Fabriani - The Groove Bug

very funky, real loungey, classy small underground club type stuff

hard to believe he's producing the glitchy electro stuff now

^ not a bad tune. Would sound decent on a nice setup

Imagine this on a big setup ---> sorta techy/techno stuff. real real real dark chugging beat

Edited by PREISS

Yeah a little over the top near the end. But I really like the first 3/4 of it. Very dark indeed. real nice bass lines

Heres a small mix I made at a mates the other night. Pretty messy in parts. New tunes tho and alcohol involved  Good fun indeed

I'll only be going for Afrojack. He's done some decent stuff with Laidback Luke in the past, so I wouldn't mind seeing him live.

And, if anyone attended Spring Break this year at the Shores complex (for all you DnB heads), which was a very, very good event... there's another event coming up at the Shores complex:

It's an ooooookay line-up. I might head down just to see Tydi and Van She.

And then, of course, Big Day Out on the Friday. That's quite a week for me haha. I might as well quit my job and just become a festival head.

Oh, and I'd love to attend this:

Rainbow Serpent Festival 2010.

Tech, trance, psy, breaks, ambient, dnb, minimal, prog, glitch... everything you don't normally hear at a normal club.

Basically it runs over 4 days, you camp there and enjoy the festival. It has arts, markets, stalls and a bit of everything. It has a very, very different atmosphere, too.

Epic.

do not like Vocal Chords - Claude VonStroke. they play it daily on Novanation.

I dont mind that track! didnt really think it would get airplay on Nova however. CVS gets a fair bit of attention on Triple J

i gotta get my hands on tickets!!! cant believe the fcker is sold out!!!!!

I thought the film clip was ok and the track had potential but didn't take me anywhere after 6 mins so I stopped before it finished.

fark thats gotta be one of the darkest techno tracks i've ever heard!

I wouldn't consider that real dark. Listen to some British Murder Boys (Surgeon & Regis) for true dark tech.

Perhaps I should have waited until the end. I liked the start but it didn't go anywhere else after that. Could be ok for 1-2 minutes within a mix.

had a listen to few BMB tracks on YT - the ones i came across were definitely on the darker side of detroit-style techno, quite cool tracks actually!

but i still consider that other track to be pretty shady; not exactly my cup of tea. The film clip probably made it feel darker :(

lol @ this Merry christmas dubstep style --->

nice dnb tune ------> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1S9kKGSias

A tune im working on. Liking where this one is going. lots of tweaking to go but it seems to flow nice already

^ very nice Craig -

don't know if I was just dreaming, but i could hear some low sub bass in that big smoke track - maybe my poxy little computer speakers & sub here won't spit out those sounds quite well - if there is a very low sub bass line, maybe make it a little louder

- i should re-route my pc output back into my mixer and play it through my big speakers i use for playing/mixing my records

i really want to get a good set of monitors to use with the computer

Yeah mate there is a real low sub line going thru it. Ive played it on my DJ speakers. came out quite well. Maybe just a tiny bit louder would be nice, but too much and it will create a flat line as it will interfere with the other bass running thru it.

deff gotta listen on a big setup. Still aint finished yet, but I will stick with this tune. seems to flow nice

one tune i absolutely can not stand:

woop woop <faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrt>

i really don't understand the masses appeal over this one

same. hes using a lot of different elements. synths from wubstep/dubstep, vocal slowdowns like H-Town 'chopped and screwed' and a really basic drumbeat. Looking at the people in the videoclip kinda explains it all.

    • The spray cans were in the "Kiln" room whilst I was preping the parts,  so probably around 2 hours to get them warmed up, the kiln room has 3 small ovens running at 100°c, 3 medium sized ovens running 100°c, and the large one I used running at 80°c, the room itself was about 28°c, I also spent a bit of time taping up the parts in the room as well, and by the time I was done I would assume that the parts were around that 28°c As for power, I expect a couple of Killerwasps up high would be achievable with the current mods, I'm still running the MZR 2.0 intake and throttle body, and there is a slight mismatch with the 2.0 intake (smaller) and 2.5 intake ports (larger) on the head, this intake is matched and specifically designed to fix this issue with the ports mismatch, the throttle body is also a couple of mm larger, OEM is 65mm, the Bosch is 68mm In the end it will look "prettier" than the molded plastic thing that is the OEM MZR 2.0 intake As for the LSD, it's the OEM Torsen which works fine for what I use the car for, plus, basically no maintenance apart from the occasional oil change
    • I was at Tunehouse in Marrickville (great team over there really know their VR's) , and I spotted this Very clean R35.
    • Mate , I have the same issue right now with the exhaust noise , if you can tell me what your local guy did , I'll talk to my guys and see if they can do the same. Power is good but it just too loud when put it down.
    • The other trick I've found with wrinkle black is to put the can in hot water for a bit to warm the paint up, and to pre-heat whatever you're painting. It'll be interesting to see if you pick up any power with the intake, following with interest. Got a proper lsd for this?
