Just wondering if Lukey exhaust systems and their panel filters are worth getting for my GTS-T?

Could they make me a full exhaust system? I'm talking about replacing everything!

I prefer to source quality Australian made products than paying the extra premium for Japanese aftermarket parts. I believe we can make good parts too.

Let me know what you think before I lay down my coin.

Cheers.

Lukey make friggin mad exhausts.

I had one on my Datsun 280ZX and if F**King growled hard.

A rumble on idle and a roar on full throttle.

Yes I believe it was custom made 2.25" full straight though with an aftermarket exhaust manifold as well.

Sweet. I knew they were good but I didn't know how they would go on a Skyline. I'll definetly give it a bash.

Same with the panel filter. If no one has heard of or used them then I will try and be different. Could go either way but worth a shot. I should have one in by the end of the day.

Now last but not least... Just who would be good to get the exhaust fitted from? I need someone who knows Lukey and GTS-T's that only does quality work.

I would just stick to the Japanese brands.

They don't cost that much anyway.

Well I have been using the Lukey panel filter for almost a week now. And I can definitely say it was worth the buy. Much better power in the higher revs and a noticeable sucking/popping sound around 5,000rpm. And there is no increase in induction noise in the lower revs so you can still hear the turbo whistle.

Anyway I will still be going for a pod filter set up later on. I will all so be going for a JJR turbo back exhaust too.

Ah ok...

I thought you were still deciding on which brand of panel filter you want to get...

If Lukey does the job then its sweet!

So many jap part shops have stacks and stacks of jap catbacks, I wonder what it stopping you from getting one?

I want a turbo back exhaust from the one company. If I did that from the likes of lets say HKS... Then I would be broke.

And sorry I should have been more specific.

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.
    • I have the 2025 build re003s’ on my 06 XT Forester Turbo and I quite rate them for street wet and dry
    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.

    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
