Stagea Mirror

Hey,

I am having some dramas with the side mirrors on my Stagea.

The passenger side mirror folds in and out, however the driver side mirror only folds out. I have bent it back in manually (bad I know) and it will fold out when I hit the switch. However only the driver side mirror won't fold back in when I set the switch to fold, the passenger side mirror is working normally.

I have checked the fuse & replaced it to no avail.

What could be the cause? I just don't want to fork out for a new mirror hopefully as I can only guess they are not cheap.

We have the same problem lol,although mine is more random than yours with both mirrors working and not working as they please.

From the limited research ive done, one problem it can be is the connection to the switch on the door, apparently taking the plug out and cleaning it(electrical contact cleaner i assume) and making sure it is in REALLY tight can help, otherwise you could tear the mirrors apart and check that the motors etc are all in good condition.

I would try the connection first and if it comes to buying a new mirror you may as well pull it apart anyway

I will give the connection problem a go and post up my results asap

it might be the mirror folding motor

the mirrors CAN fold in and out manually without breaking, so dont worry about that.

anyway, if you get stuck i have a whole mirror here with all working motors, drivers side too! so PM me if you need it

Cheers for that. I'll see if I can pick up some electrical connection cleaner over the weekend before pulling the mirror apart.

I have a pair of white mirrors suitable for parts. They might be of some use to fix yours once you work out what is not working

c34's right? Mine did it too and they can be reset by pushing mirrors in and back out again I think from memory. There is a technique I was told of and it worked for me. Been a while since I owned one. Sorry I'm not much more hlep than that.

The mirrors on my Stagea are so temperamental. They worked as good as new yesterday. But I think I'll still try the contact cleaner over the weekend.

Fold them in and get a can of WD40 or CRC and put the small hose nozzle on.

direct the spray to the line you can see under the mirrors where the motors ect are. Let it sit for 10 mins and do it again.

Wipe up excess as its going be dripping everwhere and running down the side of your doors.

Activate fold out and "assist" the lazy mirror, fold in and out a few times.

Generally gets my "lazy" LH mirror folding in and out faster than the other in fact their shit atm ill go do it now haha

i accidentally bent my drivers side mirror backwards on the gate as i was reversing out of the driveway the other day, though when i hit the mirror in switch it folded back all the way in. Yesterday though i noticed that when i hit my mirror in switch, the drivers side stayed out. It has only happened once though....

I finally washed my car this weekend & after drying the car off found that the mirror now works as good as new.

Happens with my C34 too, feels and sounds like the drivers side mirror is getting stuck as its going in.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but my mirrors fold in perfectly.. but when I fold them out, they both fold out fine, but the motor in the drivers mirror keeps whining away til I click it off.

Seems as though the mirror isnt registering as being opened so it keeps trying to open it... Any fixes? Or is it stuffed?

Mine does the same, haven't looked into fixing it I just flick the switch back when it's all the way out and clicking trying to keep going and it stops, mines the driver side only too
