man that was hard to read. had to make myself want to read it. we're quite slack here at SAU so making things easier to read and understand will get you a response. otherwise you will usually get rubbish..lol

so you have a pod and want to know if there is any other partitions that dont suck hot engine bay air, but you have made one that works for you and was wondering if people wanna buy the setup you made?

yeh thanks i posted that last night at bout 11:30 iwas obviosly tired ....

i will make it simple.

1 do you guys no how much power your loosing running a pod filter with no air box.

2 do you know of any companys making air boxs or cold air kits for r33s.

3 would anyone be interested in a cold air box that fitts a pod.

a pod in an inclosed air box with good cold air supply performs better than the standard filter ..

as most skylines in australia are sold with a pod filter already fitted most people dont realise that even a standard airbox gives better power than a pod sucking hot air ......

at least this is what ive found on my car.

like ive said i made a custom air box that fitts a pod filter fully inclosed with cold air pickup i still have the moulds so i can make more if any ones intrested

you should probably show us what your airbox looks like, and tell us how much you are thinking of charging for it.

most people here, can make, or have already made their own airbox. others have bought one. but if yours looks incredible, and is selling at a good price, you might be onto something.

there is a thread on here about this stuff, like how to push cold air into the box..

on your front bar you can connect a pipe that goes from one of the holes right up under the chassis and into the air box, (where the hole is for the piping for the fmic).. that way when the car is going, your always getting cold air.

yeh thanx for the pics mine exactly the same but has a clear top i gave up on this thread cause i didnt whant to pull my car apart to photo the bottom half of the box.

is that one fully inclosed?

also where abouts in the blue montians are you?

hey monkey boy the fact is that all the air boxs ive seen are not boxs but partitions i just thought it would be obvious that a fully inclosed box would be much better also im no air box supplier if someone was interested i would have made two or three but thats about it but seen as your so keen to knock me i will finish what i started....

the real reson i started this thread was just to see what other peoples ideas were and if anyone else had this problem

so what have you done with your 33 "partition & pod filter" like every one else !

hahah calm down man

fark

we asked you to show us the box, so we could see the quality and look etc.

because ive seen ppl try and sell crap on here for large amounts of money before.

and my airbox is very nice thanks. its a single piece of perspex, cut and shaped to snuggly fit the space around the pod.

its not sealed at the bottom, but then why would it be? thats another avenue for cold air to get in.

and it gets its air from a 3 inch tube running from the front bar into the box, from underneath. non of this snorkel bullshit.

btw, the snorkel does not see direct airflow coz its blocked by the bonnet, therefore the air needs to be sucked in to get into the box. so you need a 100% sealed box to use this method, like the standard filter box.

and after all that trouble, you still dont have as much cool air coming in, compared to an open 3 inch tube, not to mention that the snorkel may interfere with your aftermarket intercooler piping.

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
