Where did you find that one, it sounds mint for the price. I would have been all over it like BS on KRudd.

cant remember tv/navi but no leather/half leather . it was 12/03 but the customer was set on pearl white and it was very nice and clean

again budget extra for premium or later model

personally the full leather is hideous , the half leather is ok but not that great , the tv/navi more hassle than its worth to convert . give me one with a proper double din facia anyday and ill put my own decent system in it

i found a nice car not from tradecarview as ppl said its shitty and all, i used uss and some other auction sites that people have recommended. i found one for 1200000 FOB, there's no chance i can get that here complied and all ready to go and drive ( minus rego - i'm not including that cuz its a yearly expense on any car)..anyways theres no chance someone can do that all up for me for 21-22k? :)

Same here, looking to import one myself as can't find any on carsales that I like, Auto, White, Leather or Half Leather, etc.

From WA.

i saw one ..in nsw selling for 23k called the guy up and waited one hour for him at meeting spot to inspect it and he didnt show up or pick up when i called or txt msgd him .. just a jackass piece of.... like you would think he would atleast pick up say he cant make it...fn prick...the car is 2003 v35 350gt with 75000kms...im not sure if i can say anymore about it due to forum rules or privacy rules.

i did find a wonderful site though on the cost and it explains most of the importing process, i havent read it all cuz my mind like booooooffff! from uni, but i got this out of it wen i clicked cost...

Import Costs (in Australian Dollars)

Import Approval Application - 50 AUD

Examination + Steam Clean - 165 AUD

Duty - 10% (for passenger vehicles) x Customs Value (FOB price - not including Freight or Insurance)

GST (Goods and Services Tax) - 10% x VoTI (Customs Value + Duty + Freight and Insurance)

LCT (Luxury Car Tax) - for vehicles valued (GST inclusive) over $57,000 AUD.

RAW Compliance - Depends on Car

2.75% Stamp Duty for licensing vehicle (for light vehicles up to $20,000 value)

just wondering that ALL of the costs or is there maybe cost of customs clearance or is that added in the compliance and stuff - also blue slips etc are in there aswel? does that cover EVERYTHING? anything missing?

the link is - http://japan-used-car-exporting.info/import/ - look around in the tabs for the place i got that info.

Here you go mate, I'll make it easy for you.

For a car based on 1.2m yen:

1. Importer fee = $1000 (give or take $100)

2. Car cost = 1,200,000 divided by exchange rate = $16500 (add another $1000 if FOB costs arent included)

3. Shipping and customs agent fees = $2000 to $2500

4. Tax = $3500

5. Compliance and RWC requirements = $2500

6. Registration $1000

Total = $26,500 to $28,000

If you want a car for about $22k, you should contact one of the importers on here (iron chef, autoworx, whoever) and pay their service fee. They will scour the auctions and find you one for a better price than you can get a dealer. It wont be hard if you are patient. But yes, first step is to sign up with an importer and pay their fee.

You'll be struggling, to be honest, even from a broker. I can give it a shot, but you'd have to really snag it cheap if you wanted something half decent. Don't hold out for a TV either - condition of the car should always be the most important deciding factor, rather than features.

what would be the FOB price if i do look at getting everything totaling max 21-22k? - if i know the FOB price ill just look around for some before i make any moves for a broker, but ill definitely need one....as you can tell I'm a very hard customer very picky....very compulsive that's why the million questions and endless reading of info....plus I'm a uni student and as we all know were suck ass at making some dough for a living and struggle to get a job so 22k is a lot for me, so thanks for grunting this out with me so far and for the replies its been alot of help. ill still be searching just need that FOB price if im totaling 22k :P :P

thanks again guys. just been awesome

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
