what would be the FOB price if i do look at getting everything totaling max 21-22k? - if i know the FOB price ill just look around for some before i make any moves for a broker, but ill definitely need one....as you can tell I'm a very hard customer very picky....very compulsive that's why the million questions and endless reading of info....plus I'm a uni student and as we all know were suck ass at making some dough for a living and struggle to get a job so 22k is a lot for me, so thanks for grunting this out with me so far and for the replies its been alot of help. ill still be searching just need that FOB price if im totaling 22k :P :P

thanks again guys. just been awesome

You're gonna have to find one at auction because your budget is so tight - forget looking around at dealers or other websites. as they're either cars that don't exist, or over-priced rubbish. Most of the guys on here will have access to a number of sources, none of which are available to the average internet surfer.

We all know your budget - let whichever broker you choose do the calculations in yen for you accordingly. And remember that beggars can't be choosers :)

kk i guess not... il save calling brokers for tomorrow, ill try to look around and yeah.

i found this one but since you said it might be gone i dunno, maybe it would cost me 23k if its 1.18mil fob, as 1mil fob would cost around 21-22k. :P ...

1180000, is pushing it? chance of getting it between 21-22k maybe 23k??

As i said before, 1.2m yen is about $26K++

There is no chance in hell that 1.18 will be 23k.. Unless the AUD:YEN gets back up to 85. You could be waiting a while.

i wonder if that translates to there is repair and when it gets here for compliance I crush it into a cube for you.....

That's pretty much what it means, yes.

:P

You can't have your cake and eat it too. Dealers spend a lot of their own money bringing cars in from Japan - they're not going to give them away for the same money (or less even) it costs to import them.

hey guys big news, according to bbc

record plunge, up to 74 , so I'm wondering my price of 22k is getting more attractive and easier to come by and my v35 is closer reach now than ever.

nah let me kow whne it hits 104 again. it will make my inport bills from tokyo a LOT cheaper.

Ezy03,

keep dreamin or raise some more money . $22k for a coupe ain't gonna happen unless you happen to buy a wreck.

you will find that prices in japan will go up as the exchange rate drops and buyers have more yen to play with.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
