Cams & Extinguishers

I was told last Sunday that Cams have changed their rules and there's no longer a use-by date on extinguishers.

They apparently now are only interested in where the gauge sits and can hear the ball rattling around inside.

I can't find anything on their web site,,,but thats not a real surprise.

I'd love this to be a fact,,,because I really need to put my bomb system back in,,,the Radical being rear engined would be an impossible thing to put a fire out of.

Has anybody else heard about this???.

I heard the same, but there is nothing in the CAMS bulletins. so its not offical yet

Would be a good thing, only issue I see is how do you ensure that the thing works.

On the other hand... it is the track marshals that are going to put the fire out... most in car extinguishers are only going to prolong the enivitable.

I was considering a bomb for the GTR but was put off by the replacement of it once its our of date,

I assume yours is already out of date Neil??

I could not see why it cant be serviced like a regular extiguisher and put back into use.

Absolutely Brad,,,way out of date,,,but after talking to my extingisher man (Yes I know someone) he said if the gauge is in the right stop,,,green from memory then it will work perfectly.

I have to go to E/C on sunday,,,I'll ask Kerry Butcher about it.
